Tradeskill merchant data in your Story Window (UPDATED 5/6)

Not to out-thunder rabidkimba......

Work progresses, if slowly. Of note that I can think of:
-- Smithing armor and weapon stats
-- Baking! One huge...... long....... file........
-- Jewelrycraft (thanks to rabidkimba's IM for the spark of inspiration. we ended up building two separate displays, simultaniously, off the same method. ^_^ while his splits trivials and recipes into two files without color, mine are all in one and with color. whatever floats your boat. )

Alchemy is in the works, just finished one today. Brewing after that.

And rabidkimba, hon, I'm sorry. I know Geocities sucks, but if I host stuff for one person, I have to be fair enough to host stuff for all, and I'm not getting 'paid' enough for that. ^_^



(also, be aware that his note about linking his files assumes that the person is using my recipie mod on top of Quesci's... just to avoid confusion. If you're just using Quesic's, but want to stick his in, place that link in the storyEQtraders.txt file in the storyline folder. Otherwise, self-edit the index_recipe.txt in the eqtraders folder.)

Alchemy done (it was waaaaaaaaay shorter than I thought) but not posted (i have to troubleshoot).
Brewing in the works. By Tunare, parsing this file out sucks. But it will be done. ^_^ and relatively soon. Expect a zip update by tonight. for those who, you know, sit on the edge of their seats waiting for this. If there are any of those.

My roll took me halfway through brewing. Then I got on EQ to check my work and... well, you know, there's tradeskills, banded armor to make, vodka to brew (then drink) xp to get, slow zones to survive.....
Finished maybe tomorrow, alchemy and brewing posted by friday evening.

Is there a problem downloading it? No one's really said one way or the other, till today....................................

Severe updates. Like, serious chunks of stuff. lots of alchemy, brewing, baking 200+, massive formatting fixes on smithing, tailoring..... gah, too much to remember.


Next on the list is fletching, and no i have no clue how i'm gonna do it. ^_^. Anyone have any requests after that?

just for the curious... if there are any curious... fletching is done. Cazic Thule is done. Some trivial updates, some odd little bug fixes, and a Recipe Index link on all pages.

Before I post all this stuff, I want to get Old Poisons done, and also all the 'little' recipes that I didn't put in before... non-Old Baking comes to mind. So I can have One Really Huge Posting, rather than all these little patch-zips.


Just for the other curious, I split things up by expansion, so people who don't have, say, PoP, know that they don't have as direct access to such-and-such an item/recipe as someone who does.

Pop recipes are currently under the Cultural on the ToDo List... any votes one way or the other on that? Anyone have anything they want me to concentrate on?

since i've already accidentally deleted one email, please put TRADESKILL MOD or something in large capital letters in the subject line... make it very clear that I do not need to over look this.... (I HATE SPAM, grr).

First off, Quesci and Saana are the coolest for this!!!!

Second, due to their inspiration I've made a little mod as well. It's not tradeskill related (please don't shoot me) but I figured I'd let you all see it first.

This mod puts all the class spell lists in the Story window so they are right at your fingertips.

Suggestion

Just a suggestion - since y'all seem to be working on the entire site in story-mod format, perhaps you could offer the whole thing in "chapters".
For instance (I don't know who is doing what tradeskills, forgive me) if y'all could get together somehow and offer the whole collection as one download (when it's all done 'course) and then offer the whole thing split up into individual skills for those who don't do them all - perhaps with the ability to add-on the ones not originally downloaded.
Maybe maintain the same idea as the original supply list, with a ToC. When you click a link to a skill you downloaded, you get the list of trivs, recipies, supplies. If you click a link to a skill you didn't dl, you'd get a page that just says something like "you don't have this list silly, go get it!"
Totally up to you guys of course, assuming there's some demand for a split up version. Personally, I'd put it to use since I don't have any smiths, fletchers, alchemists or poisonmakers and it'd probably cut down on how much more I have to put into my already ridiculously massive EQ folder

who is doing what tradeskill -- at least regarding myself, I'm systematically eating my way through EQTC. If it's on the site (and recipe-related), it will be in the mod. Eventually.

one large DL vs many smaller DLS by skill, etc --
at least regarding myself, Fletching, Alchemy, and Poisons when finished are/will be offered as separate, self contained DLs, complete with copy of appropriate Quesci file. IF PEOPLE ASK, and not before (lord knows I've got enough on my plate), I will split things up into smaller packages: ie, just baking, just brewing, just smithing, etc.

ability to add on what wasn't originally DLed / click link to skill not DLed -- won't work. Any given DL has to have the correct internal links. a broken link will freeze EQ entirely. This is why you HAVE to have the folder named 'eqtraders' within your storyline; else EQ will go Boom.
IE: I can't just offer random files, it HAS to come as a self-sufficient package. (If I'm wrong, someone tell me now.... ^_^)

I'm on a bit of a (strike)panic(/strike) race to finish this mod before I go and disappear into Germany for eight weeks.... We shall see, hm? ^_^

It's not that hard to break anything I've already done up into separate packages for download. It wouldn't be but the work of 30 min to churn out a Baking Only Package. But I can do my Japanese homework in 30 min; I can work on, say, Tinkering or Poisons in 30 min. I can check trivial threads in those 30 min. Like I said, tell me what you want...... and then take a number. ^_^

I'm so happy this is helping people. I am also open to comments like, 'such and such a color isn't really so readable', 'i would really like it if you would think about doing such-and-such a tradeskill next' (loy recipies explicitly excluded from that, I want to wait until that settles down more).

Pardon my tone, if it's rough at all, multitasking is...... fun.

Huge update.

-- Alchemy has been removed from the Main Mod. The only people who REALLY need it are shamans, who can DL it separately.
-- Poison done! Need feedback from rogues (will also make note in the Poison forum). Poison in separate mod.
-- All recipe pages are now linked to the Recipe Index as well as to the main Table of Contents.
-- All Cazic Thule done. I want to know if I should put CT in the Main Mod (where it currently is) or not.

Planned:
-- Tinkering is next on the list.
-- Woodelf Cultural after that.
-- Highelf Cultural.
-- Dwarven Cultural will be done whenever Clico (my MithMarr clicky 'alt') gets to the point where she has contributed something significant.
-- If I'm not totally sick of cultural by then (esp of cultural that I won't be using for a while/can't really use on a main), I'll do Darkelf.
-- Any other culturals will be BY REQUEST ONLY. Let me bold that. Any other culturals will be BY REQUEST ONLY. I am perfectly happy to do anything you want, just TELL ME. (and yes, xefin, I will forage you some plant shoots.)
-- By the time all this is done, my main will be 46 and going to the Planes (*crosses fingers*). POP recipes will then be done and placed in their own zip/mod.
-- By the time THAT is done, Loy will have settled down enough that I will do that too, and place it with it's own mod.

June and July I will be in Germany. I will also be in EQ withdrawl. ^_^ That's why I'm hurrying to get this done. /sigh. dumb philosophy paper.

I belive I have finished all the pages of recipes that will go in the Main Mod.
Note: This does not and is not supposed to contain POP or Loy recipes. Those will come later. It does contain Luclin where noted, but Luclin seems to be a more commonly possessed expansion.
