  • Eating/Drinking for stat increases.

I just had a quick question/concern. I'm relatively new to EQ and I've seen some food that will give +3 WIS (Elven Salad for example). However, when I eat it, I don't see that +3. Is this a hidden stat increase? Do I just have to wait until my character gets hungry and when she eats it by herself I get the bonus? How does this work?

In order to receive stats from food & drink, you have to NOT eat it, which is counter-intuitive, but EQ seems to do things the 'newfie' way, sometimes

Anyways, just put your stat-enhancing food & drink (example Misty Thicket Picnics and Qeynos Afternoon Teas) in the two top slots of your first bag in the left -hand corner of your inventory, and you will automatically get the stats. Next time you are naked (ex: after a rez) check it out before and after you equip that bag, you wil see the stats increase.

In order to NOT eat that food, carry some fish rolls or other non-stat food, and some water, and 'forcefeed" until you are so full you cant eat any more, repeat this every once in a while, to make youir stats food & drink last longer. (but remember to store this forcefeeding food & drink 'below' your stats food & drink or you wont get the stats.)
