  • No BS guide to a 200 in fletching

Fletching By: Plymouth/Apostrophe of Firiona Vie

    Easy guide to 200

You want the no-nonsense, simplistic, 100% tell you what to do, all information provided in one place guide to fletching? This is it.

This guide will most benefit people who have already seasoned themselves up a bit, and have some plat stashed away in the bank. You decide, why not get a 195 in fletching for the hell of it. This guide can get you to 202, but I wouldn’t go over 200 unless you really want to be a fletcher, or you have enough AA’s to throw away on New Tanaan. Your call.

    Start
    - Get yourself a Geerlock Fletching tool.
    - Get yourself 2 Opal Encrusted Steins.
    - Casters? Get KEI and make sure you have a 255 in Int/Wis
    - Melee? Get shammy buffs and have a 255 in whatever stat you tradeskill with.
    - Have 1 bag in your inventory to stash your steins, food, etc
    - Have 1 inv slot be a planar fletching kit
    - Have every other slot as a 10-slot bag. Handmade Backpacks are best, or use Trader Satchels if you don’t have enough.
    - Withdraw something like 3000 platinum
    - Head to approx loc (-100, 1450) and sit yourself by one of the NPC’s named Cloudchaser. I prefer the one upstairs. This guy sells you the fletching kit if you don’t have one yet.

You will equip the steins to buy your components, and equip them again to sell the product arrows. When doing the combines, have your geerlock tool equipped. Doing it this way won’t yield any profit, but will reduce the overall cost of each skillup greatly.

Now, hopefully you can figure the rest of this out. This is the cheapest set of steps to get you up to 200. Everything you need from this point on is available from a single merchant! Nice huh? If you have strong wrists, a few hours, and enough plat, you can do this all in one sitting.

    Make to 182
    Wood Shaft
    Silver Tipped Point
    Any Nock (cheap)
    Round Fletchings

Make to 202 (STOP AT 195)
Steel Shafts (the ones merchant is selling, not the smithed ones)
    Field Point
    Any Nock (cheap)
    Round Fletchings

So, thats it. I hope this guide works. Print it out and sit with it. Its worth doing, especially if you want to do the Coldain Prayer Shawls. You'll need fletching for a few of the combines.

Moved from Database Submissions. Tradeskill guides belong in the tradeskill guides forum so that people can find them, they aren't part of the database and so don't belong in database submissions.

      Some suggestions:

Up near the top you tell the Melees to get shammy buffs for whatever stat. Fletching uses Dexterity, so I would be more specific, since a Melee that gets STR buffs and gets poor results won't be happy.

You may want to list what zone to go to -100, 1450 in (I assume PoK)

Instead of "any nock (cheap)" I would specify Large Nock which is the cheapest. I would also check, since some of your entries list Medium or Small nock where it may not be necessary.

You may want to explain why the user would want to stop at 195, rather than 200.

Also you can do the GOD freebie quest in abysmal sea to get to 52.

You may want to explain why the user would want to stop at 195, rather than 200.
Good point. Why would you want to stop at 195???

I would guess he's having you stop at 195, because fletching isn't one of the "biggies" you want to get over 200. Stopping at 195 allows you a 5 point breathing space, so you don't inadvertantly go to 201, and ruining your chances of getting another skill up to 250 until you can use aa's to get new tannin mastery..(wow..that last sentence has horrible structure..hehe)
