Level Cap?

Hi all,

I'm new to the tinkering scene, and it seems to me that it used to be level capped, kinda like research. Is this still the case? I'm vaguely recalling that that was changed a long time ago, but I really cant remember for certain.

Starting gnomes have the skill at 50, and can not raise the skill past that until level 16. After that, I believe the sky is the limit. (i.e. 250 skill)
