  • Folded sheets of metal (collapsed containers)

Collapsed containers (spit, mixing bowl etc) take folded sheets of metal.
Folded sheets of metal take blocks of ore to make.

Searching the smithing supplies page for blocks of ore draws a complete blank

I therefore humbly ask the more skilled tinkers: Is it really necessary to make the blocks of ore for the containers from 3 large bricks? Or am I just overlooking something obvious? ops:

Thanks in advance for the help!

    I asked the same question:

    http://mboards.eqtraders.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=7036

I have since found, while collecting Heavy Clay from Muddites in the Gorge of King Xorbb, that the Muddites also drop Blocks of Ore.

If you have a Magician summon a bunch of 100% weight reduction bags, you can collect a load of ore in various sizes and sell the heavy clay to potters. Also check the merchants in East Karana near the entrance to the Gorge for blocks of ore.

While I believe Brodybeard that blocks can be looted in the gorge, I would suggest that it is simpler (if you have access to a smith) to combine the 3 (storebought) Lg Bricks of Ore with water in a forge and then combine the resulting block of ore with a smithy hammer and water to make the folded sheet.

Oh, I agree. Much easier to just visit Shadow Haven, which has ore vendors near forges.

I was just mentioning an alternative that works for me since my druid is spending time in the Gorge farming heavy clay for her pottery.

Thank you very much for the replies!

I can see this is the equivalent of celestial essences for tinkers!

Folded metal sheets are trivial in smithing at 37....you can buy the 3 large bricks of ore from the smithy supply vendor that also sells the smithing hammer.

First you will combine 3 larges bricks of ore and 1 flask of water into the forge.

Upon success you will receive one big block of ore

Take the big block of ore, the smithy hammer, and 1 water flask to combine in the forge. Upon success you will get 1 folded sheet of metal and your hammer back. Upon failure, you only get the hammer.

It took me awhile to figure this out, but once I did I quickly trained my smithing as much as possible and then advanced to trivial in about 10 minutes. This is easy to do and makes us tinkerers more self sufficient.
