Does anyone care to hazard a guess on the cost to skill up a tinker to about the 190 range?

Hrm, I never kept track of costs when skilling up, it hurt too much, but with the PoP stuffs, I don't think it would cost anywhere near the 10's of thousands of pp that it cost me. I posted a skill up route on the tinkering boards, feel free to go take a peek over there, perhaps I'll cross post it here too.

More and more frequently, I need a tinkered item. And a lot of the time, they aren't available in the baz. Or the price in the Baz is very unreasonable (4.5k for a corking device when BDs are 600pp?) Or I have the components and can't find a tinker to do the combines.
I like being self-sufficient, but there's only so far I'm willing to go to achieve self-sufficiency. 30-50-100k is more than I'm willing to go at this point.
But that could change if I can sell enough Nightmarewood Compound Bows.

tinkering cost
Cost me close to 10kpp, but I did many hundreds of higher cost geerloks, so cost could be way less. If you are dedicated enough to do only brewing geerloks and get the porous mineral blocks yourself I would belive you could get to 215 for about 4kpp, I started geerloks at 122 and feel that costwise it was a good thing to do rather then start the catapults which cost so much for each combine (40 geerlok combines got me from 122 to about 132 for a mere 130pp and those catapults cost what 35pp each?)

Sarrowen has only taken his tinkering skill to 102. At the time I was hoping to use that skill to help with my ranger’s fletching skill, but since the powers that be decided to make fletching so much more expensive I haven’t pursued it any further. But I found that tinkering is a lot of fun, so I do hope to further my skill in the not too distant future. Anyway, I gave my gnome 1k pp when he started tinkering and his bank account was all but gone by the time he hit 102.Pait Spiritwalker

I actually used catapults for skillups, and saved them ALL. I now have a couple of backpacks full of them for making Happy Dragon and Meterological rockets.
After getting to 250 in tailoring, I'm finding the costs of tinkering to be refreshing.

26 combines got me to 123
Sorry to hear that, one thing you must make sure is that your int is very high. A 242+ int seems necessary to do what I did, and if you can get to 255 int the costs go down substantially, though I have as of late noticed that a non spell 255 int or wis helps a lot more then a spelled up 255 though if you don't have the money to get gear to get you to 255 by all means ask a nice enc around to give you some int buffs to get you up there.
As I would like to be free about my information overall on Tunare I have earned money while trying to get to doing innovative cams for my friends. Though it has made it so that my main char doesn't get but maybe half the time I should allocate for her.
If anyone on Tunare needs a tinkerer that can do combines of cams, please go ahead and contact me in game, or call on Feolina and if I am not busy I can log Muana here on and do the combines for you (please no real low combines do to time constaints)

I got to 250 as a gnome warrior. (read: very low int) Don't ask what it cost.

What I'm doing is asking everyone in my guild to collect coiled springs, then make collapsible tailoring kits, costs close to nothing per attempt (like 2pp or less).
Also buying coiled springs from other people is an option, anything less than 20pp in bazaar is mine and a lot of people dump them on the PoT vendors who resell them for 1.5pp.

Costs ....
From 50 to 120 cost me 1000pp, with a CHA of 147, and selling everything I made back to the vendor.
From 120 to around 147 has cost me another 3000pp, same CHA, but now I'm selling the spits for around 400-600pp each, it's helping with the funding.

I am just making Geerlok Brewing devices and farming all the blocks myself, or find them on vendors. It costs me about 5 plat for each attempt, and I average about 20 attempts for skill up at 111 skill. So I am figuring on spending 10k or so to hit 215.Come on guys, one more pull. What is the worst that could happen?
