  • Tinkering and Fine Plate Armor

Ok, I know tikerers need Fine Plate Armor for the new High End Armor. I have reached the point in my blacksmithing that I now skill up on Fine Plate Armor. I consider it such huge waste to make just one item and sell back sucesses to a vendor.

    1) Is there any demand for the FP Armor for tinkerers?
    2) If so, what would you suggest I stock?

Personally, I am only in it for cost to recover expenses and since I only do around 20-30 combine attempts at any one time, I can actually stock and sell most, if not all, my successes. I have currently done a total of 45 attempts and it only costs me the price of the leather padding and metal+molds for any failures. Vendor buyback is pretty good, so it really isn't costing me alot of plat to do this. But, as I stated, I feel this is such a waste and would rather have it for sale if there is a demand.

    Thanks.

Check out the GPS and talk to your local tinkerers. I know before I skilled Lae up, I found a couple of people to help me with the armor for skill ups on Clockwork before PoP

      Smith and tinker alliance

While skilling up in smithing, I sold a great many of my successes at cost+25% to a tinker who was likewise skilling up, back in the Bad Old Days when the route from 215 to 250 was solely watchman armor.

Watchman armor, of course, requires drops from Wakening Lands. And more drops from Wakening Lands. And more... well, you get the idea.

You might do well to find all the tinkers you know (including sending tells to anyone in the bazaar selling anything that looks tinkered). You might well find a fair market for your fine plate.

Also, talk to folks working on their Coldain Shawl quests. The 8th shawl requires killing a lot of geonids, and they may run across a fair amount of Living Granite, and perhaps some globs of tar as well, both items for tinkered armor making. Might make your fine plate a better bargain for the tinker.
