  • Tinker Question!

Are the PoI drops flaged no-drop, i.e. My main is not a gnome, I was consittering tinker as my tradeskill assuming my main could pay for it, but for the time being, I have no intent to lvl an alt to get to PoI? What if anything is no drop from the planes? Thanks in advance all.

Here's a list of the various drops used by tinkerers from PoI:

class 6 mana battery, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs, sold at merchant in PoI for ~105pp
(magic item, wt 0.1, tiny, all/all)

    clockwork carapace, PoI, non-stackable
    - various mobs, rare drop, (wt 0.1, tiny, all/all)

    coiled spring, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (magic item, wt 0.1, tiny, all/gnm)

    innovative clockwork bolts, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (wt 0.1, tiny, all/all)

    innovative clockwork gears, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (wt 0.1, tiny, all/all)

    pinion, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (magic item, wt 0.0, tiny, all/gnm)

    saltpeter, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (magic item, wt 0.1, tiny, all/gnm)

    sillicorrosive grease, PoI, non-stackable
    - various mobs (no drop, wt 1.0, small, none/none)

    steel ball bearing, PoI, stackable
    - various mobs (wt 0.1, tiny, all/gnm)

All are dropable, and the gnome merchant sells the steel casings in the middle of the zone ... but if you have someone who can get there and play delivery they are NO DROP as well.

    Happy Tinkering!!

      Please correct me if I'm having a brain fart, but I thought sillicorrosive grease was no drop (due to it being also used on a quest) ... did they finally fix it? {crosses fingers, toes and eyes}

I know this is a very small sample size, but my erudite chanter was able to make a greasy diamond of innovation 1 out of 2 tries, no tinkering skill. My druid then went 0 for 3 trying to make them.

So until they're made tradeable, if there's no gnome in your group go ahead and loot them... there's always that slim chance that you'll make the diamond even with no skill.

BTW, I support all efforts to flay alive any non-tradeskiller who demands a roll on these because "they're xp!" :x

                PoI Drop Question

The recipe for the Base Prototype calls for a ball bearing.

Is this the same as the steel ball bearing that drops in the PoI?

                Thanks.
