Is Tinkering capped until a certain level?

Ok, if it's said anywhere here, it's not real clear to me *sorry* but I can't seem to get over 252 on my level 21 Gnome.

I'm guessing it's capped until 51? I was at 248, got 4 skill ups in like 35 combines, but stupid me continued to use up all my ingredients (another 225 combines) with no skill ups. I thought it was just a bad run with the RNG, but I really should have stopped and came here to find out.

At least the good news is his trophy is 21% evolved now *lol*

Aside from needing to be level 16 to raise tinkering over your starting skill, there are no level caps. Since it's a racial tradeskill, the rule that you can only have one skill over 200 without the Tanaan AAs doesn't apply either.

It sounds like you're just having a run of bad luck. There's nothing that would prevent you from getting more skillups (aside from the evilness inherent in the RNG, that is.)

I can confirm there is NO cap at 252 for tinkerers under 51 as my tinkerer is only 18 and has a 276 skill. Sounds like the RNG is not cooperating with you is all.

My bazaar mule is level 16 with a skill of 300 in tinkering. I think I ran into a similar situation at 200 and was wondering but eventually I got 201.

Thanks for the replies, I guess that RNG was being very very mean to me. I did go out and get 3 more levels the other morning *hehe* I'll continue to get more components and start clicking again. I can't wait to see a skill up now!
