  • Tinkered DoN Augs: Just a discussion

I like the fact that the DoN gnomish armor can also be tinkered but would it have been reasonable/appropriate to make the augs also tinker-able?

Just seeing what other TS'ers think of this idea and if it would have been unbalancing or making the route to 300+ unreasonably easy.

I could see it being too easy at the lower end, I'm not so sure about the high end, mainly because if you're of a level to get the Master+Grandmaster quests you're probably going to end up getting the Seal quest too, and I think that one would actually be cheaper based on the prices I was seeing the metals go for.

As far as logical goes... I can't really say why but for some reason I don't really like the idea of it. I guess I view Augs as more 'mystical' and for whatever personal reason I don't quite see Tinkers infusing something properly (Yeah they make backpacks that levitate and invisibility devices and stuff but still). Additionally, if they did get to make augs, they'd get to use both Hides and Scales, since they can tinker both smithed and tailored armor, and I can't really see that being something accepted by anyone other than tinkers .

I was wondering the exact thing last weekend, more in the "huh?? how come I cannot tinker the augs" sense, infact I think it be nice if we can tinker them

Perhaps a restriction to Scales might make more sense. When you think of a tinker as working with metals, machine parts, etc then a metallic substance might be a more logical material for them to work with. How about a third sought after drop then, Cog Studded Drake Skull or something equally contrived.

Good conversation though, I like to see what other folks are thinking about an issue like this. Thanks for responding so far.

I hop Ngreth pokes in and gives us his thoughts on it. I know it would be nigh on impossible to go back and re-itemize the DoN drop tables but I wonder if it had ever been discussed making the augs a tinkered recipe.

At this point it is time.

That is a HUGE amount of recipes (trust me... lots...)

and before I add anything, I want to fix the drop problems.

I am not against this, but I am also not for this.

One thing i *DO* want to do is have more appropriate level drops for the lower level tinkered armor.
