Actually they normally do include the "skin"

We actually have two ways to alter the appearance, we can change the "texture". Most models have 2, some have more, a few have only one. And the mechanical rat and spider ARE skins on the "NGE" rat and spider models.

We can also put a tint on a model. There are a few caveats to this. To take a tint it must be a new model, (models that are new since the "New Graphics Engine" often called NGE) and we have a very limited amount of tints we can apply (we do not get full RGB control) currently only 30. And finally they tints do not always look good, so we can sometimes be limited even more.

OK, so after sleeping on this .... the answer is....

A mechanical mini boar pet!!! (Surely it must be in the Global File?)

The lore is that Tinkers came up with the ride on roboboar somehow, so they tinkered smaller versions which they carried around with them and trained them. When they had finally passed on enough knoweldge and training (like dogs for blind people) the roboboars graduated to mounts!!

Change the colour to a shinier version of the current mount (showing how young and new it is), sneak in a quest giver in Corathus with a bunch of tinkered type no-drops from Ak Anon, POI and Corathus and trigger it with a tinker trophy (choose the level based on how many of these you want in game).

Effect on the Mini-Pig - Forage!! A plate opens on the underside of the mini-pig and a vacuum hose descends and sucks up something....You have foraged a clockwork grease :P

      Christmas is coming....puhleeeeeze

The boar is definitely global, but not sure if they can resize the model without adding a new model.

depends on what the default size is. If the default is the normal "6" then yeah, it can be shrunk

but *shiny* is not happening another color, sure

I am still only in the "considering" stage. *If* I decide to do this, it would not likely be by the holiday. I am still undecided though.

and to think I used to run from Ogres, with their Gnome shaped cookie crumbs fresh on their chin.....

p.s. shiny - was meant to indicate something along the lines of gold/silver when compared to the current "hogwash brown" :P

The boar can definitely shrink, since different size players have different size boar mounts. Of course, that might well mean that the smallest sized boar possible is the size of boar mount for gnomes.

The 'Toy Skates' reward for the Frostfell quests are -precisely- the kind of effect I'm talking about. Now all we need is a rechargable, tinkered version!

How about a Collapsed Anizok's Bait Dispenser? That thing is awesome, but no one uses it because it takes a bag slot to carry it around.

                              Tinkered WR Bags?
Halflings get the inside track with the Leatherfoot Haversacks, perhaps a version to give some parity to gnomes? What a great excuse to break out those 20 slot containers!! (Hehe ok, I know...nothing more than 10 slots!)

Hmm that did kinda get into tailoring/smithing a bit but the recipe could be altered to fit however I like the idea of a supple, lightweight bag or a hyper-lightweight tinkered box made only by gnomes via tinkering or tailoring.
