Yeah... So some months ago on a massive cleaning spree between Evram and his 4 bot mule bank accounts, I apparently deleted my Roboboar.

Would be nice if you could do something like "/reclaim xx" to get any lost rewards your character had previously gotten already.

Surely, there's a not-too-complicated way to do that.

I claimed one of my rewards on the wrong character /cry. The CSR said ... "too bad, so sad"

I am upset that this upgrade is being given for something that only came with the boxed set. At the time, it was more convenient to just download the expansion, and the addition of a very slow mount didn't make it worth it to buy the box. Roboboars should either have been /claimable for all, or should now be made vendor purchasable.....

          Original Roboboar

I just want to know which box set this mount came in......I have all box sets from Platnium to Titainium...which box expansion was this an offer from....and if I buy the box set....even tho I downloaded the expansion from the server.....would I still be able to claim the bonus....thanks all for your time.

My understanding of it is that the cost to upgrade the roboboar is the same as buying a simular speed horse or lizard. There really isnt anything to gain, except having a different mount then others.

The highest rank roboboar is faster than the fastest buyable horse. It is the same speed as the emp/seru horse and the drum from the casino.

...and also requires a very rare drop from a raid mob, much like, say, the Emp/Seru horse. I see no disparity.

First rule of mob control: Don't cloud the issue with the facts.

Hmm, I guess I missed something. I thought the Robo Boar upgrades were tinker only no drop items? Are they drop items?

Actually, there is a potential of it bit more and a rare possibility that it will cost quite a bit more.

The cost to tinker Class XXX Roboboar Upgrade Device and cost to purchase the Class XXX Roboboar Gear Kit will roughly equate to the cost to buy an equivalent speed bridle or drum.

That is assuming that the tinker does not fail in making the Upgrade Device, of course. If the tinker fails on that combine the price will be 5% to 10% greater (just a SWAG, I am not really willing to do the actual math, even though it is simple). In the unlikely event (or likely event depending on the skill of the tinker, trivials range from 214 to 240) that the tinker fails numerous times in a row...

Your base roboboar is essentially nothing more than a medding beast. To some people it just looks good. The choice of a drog or a horse is pretty much a matter of player choice as neither offer any real advantage over the other. For those that have the base roboboar and access to a fairly high level tinker, they have a third option that will cost about the same as the other two mounts.

The only advantage that a roboboar owner has is in the Class V Roboboar. As stated above this requires an extremely rare raid drop (Essence of Speed). In all probability, you would be able to count all the Class V Roboboars across all servers on the fingers of your hands. As time goes on, you may have to use your toes but that is about it.

Its not that rare. My guild has 2 already from 2 different events. We did one event twice, and the other 3 times.
