  • Question involving evolving charm

    While I certainly have not gotten to the point of making a research container with tinkering (only 234 skill on my rogue ATM ), when I do get to 300, and make my first research book, since the trivial on it is 404, and if I manage to do a successful combine, the evolving item gets no XP on it correct?

    If you mean Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Holepoker, the answer to your question is yes... the new trophies only get exp for combines between 1 and 100 above your current skill level, so the max at 300 (raw skill) would be a 400 trivial combine.

      I do have it check that if you are skill 300 ANYTHING non trivial (even over 400) gives exp... but the exp is capped at 350. (you get exp, jus 350 not 404)

          @Devil

          No reason to get 300 skill to make the container imo. The only real issues is getting the book, as soon as you have that you can make them both fairly easy and cheap, there isnt really a big market for them tho ( And its a far better marker on instructions so suplying lots of containers might ruin that )
          I made 4 containers in 5 combines with a 289 skill.

            Just trying to find ways to max the trophy when I get to 300, the hole poker seems to be easiest (not leasxt expensive) to get the trophy XP maxxed.

              Holepoker and any of the tinkering sub-combines for the AAAA will give the same xp for leveling the trophy, given that they will all be treated as a 350 combine with a 300 base skill.

              At the rate that this trophy evolves, I'd estimate somewhere close to 1000 holepokers to evolve it

              Yes, it is THAT slow.

                Don't forget, the trophy only gets experience on successful combines, and even at 300+12% you only get about 85% success on the holepoker. It's probably the slowest way to evolve your trophy. You have an expected return of ~296 xp per combine, vs 289xp for master chest/legs, 332xp for aaaa subcombines, or 287-332xp for the various DoDH seal combines.

                    if you wanna level it up do what i do, make a varity of clockwork obsver bracers, dodh seals, woks, AAAA combines (sell the AAAA for $$$$$) and master level BPs/legs. if you can farm the yittrum easly do it that way, i cant farm the yittrum very easly so i find that the clockwork observer bracers make for a much more easy farm, since they require only a drop of 1 BD, 1 glob of tar (about 8 globs per round in WL from the 39 ish tars there) and one minotaur blood (about 1-2 per round of the 10ish minotaurs in steamfront)
                    if your going to buy the stuff in the zar, look to be spending about 1k per combine thats going to be consumed.

                    o ya, curently at 295 raw skill and a 99% lv 5 evloved trophy, with about 3 million plat backing me up ( GO GO AAAA!!!)
