Where have you seen High Quality Horse Skin drop?

I was curious of what zones people have seen High Quality Horse Skins drop? I seen a post mention Ruins of Takish Hiz but the horses there seemed perma-camped.

I only have hunted horse types in the ruins so far. I got one skin from about
15 kills.

We had medium quality horse skin drop in Theater of Blood last night, so I'm going to assume high quality will drop there as well.

Out of curiosity where do you get the task to make a instance of ruins of takish hiz?

Not a tinkerer by trade, but spent many hours this weekend gathering components for the new fletching combines. There are 3 or 4 green to 70 nightmare models that spawn in Takish-Hiz (non instanced). I was looking for horse hoofs and LQ hides, but got 2 HQ hides over way too many hours of camping.

The mounted skeleton models in Arcstone also have a chance to drop horse hoofs, so I would not be surprised if hides were on their table.

The 70 aura tasks from nro (Val'kanor?) make instances of takish. At least number 2 and 3 do. Right now I don't remember what happened in the first task, but it would be the same zone also if instanced (Haven't seen many other zones from the expansion yet).

In the 70 tasks, all the normal mobs are dark blue to 70.

I got a medium and a hq from a horse in Ruins of Takish Hiz.

I haven't wandered over all of Elddar yet, but I have seen no horses where I've been.

There's only 3 horses in Tak Ruins and they take, oh around 10 mins, to respawn .. I don't remember exactly off-hand.

Horses in Theater of Blood do drop em, but those hit for over 2k and are in a keyed zone, so not exactly 'farmable' for the majority of players.


If anyone comes across a lost herd somewhere or finds the Plane of the Equine, feel free to post it.


*Edit -- Btw .. not sure if the respawn in instances is the same, but there's still just 3 horses that spawn in them. Same as in normal Tak Ruins.

You guys seem a little luckier than I was. I spent about 6 hrs camping the 3 horses in Tak and didnt get not one. My poor lil gnome I guess is not gonna be able to make them at this rate. The prices of HQ Horse skins on Erollisi is just plain stupid. /sigh 20k

The very first horse I killed in Tak dropped one. Haven't seen one since though. Not to upset about it though considering I have no intention of ever making a second floatation pack.

i farmed 5...sold them each for 10k...it only took me a week to get the 5 pelts, and that's with only about an hour of farming a day, except for 2 or 3 days of 3 or 4 hours worth each.

as far as horses in elddar forest there are pegasei(sp) and unicorns there havent killed any but that might be something to look into for hides.
On a side note anyone heard of what the medium ones are for?

Dunno, they are tagged but they are not used in any known recipe. =p
