New trophies (possible spoilers)

Actually, I don't even have GoD on the account with my Tinker, but I was able to send a Troll to go get the raw dark matter converted and to buy the battery casings.

I forsee a decent market in the sub-combines for these Trophies....

Thankfully on Bertoxx, somebody saw a chance for some plat.

Grabbed a boot gasket for 1500p in the Baz. With a my skill @ 216, the trophy bag is a 10 slot 50% reduction.

Spanner looks like a mace tho when in primary (so what)

what makes me the saddest is all those ice cream churners and distillarys going to (basically) waste... =(

This is true, those items were already sadly rare and super expensive in Bazaar before, now I'm thinking they will be eliminated as people scarf all the available boot gaskets for tradeskill trophies.

yes killing ferans in nc was oh so fun for an item that is rare as hell off them, and then requiring atleast 6 for my skill level. just rediculous. increasing tentacle drop rate would be quite nice

just did the beginner test, i found it to be quite easy, with only a couple of considerations.

1. the only item required for any of the combines that is not vendor sold, and could pose a problem for lower level players is a grain of dark matter. i picked up 2 pieces of dark matter in the bazaar for 2pp each, and had done the abysmal sea freebie tinkering quest so that i could do my own conversions.

2. skelontorim orrthemech (the npc who gives the abysmal sea freebie quest) carried all the necessary components to do the combines except for batwings (need 4 if no failures) a pie tin, a skewer, and water flasks (sorry, didn't count how many i endes up using, but am certain it was less than a stack for everything.

so, if you are a level 20 or better (so's to have the farstone), you should be able to easily get the beginner trophy in less than a day, and less than about 20pp.

As painful as it is going to be trying to gather 8 Severed Feran Tentacles I took out to nobles over the weekend to start farming, bad idea since it is still over camped but did find someone willing to sell me any tentacles he got.....For 30k each. Wont be seeing this guy anytime soon.

I can understand needing a couple for this quest but needing 8 is insane and cruel. Its not like getting to 300 was cheap I guess it follows that the trophy should be as expensive and painful.

Having the tinkering robe made the decision to not complete this quest a little easier.

I was able to get 3 of the severed feran tentacles off ferans in NC in about an hour of killing.

Feran tentacles are *not* rare. I would put them at a 1 in 10 drop rate, give or take. Took me about 4 hours to get 9 drops. Had I been in a group, I could have killed many more ferans in that amount of time, as well as a few named.

Ask a group of guildmates to help you farm them, and you can knock them out in about 3 hours, give or take. Farm them near the mage epic mob/alpha feran area. plenty of mobs, plus a few named in the area (IE - con people into helping with the promise of runes).

Be lucky to get 1 when soloing.

But I took a full group out for a couple evenings and got some tentacles, so they're not bad to farm if you have a group. They're just rare with casual xp-ing.

There jsut are not many choices. Tinkering does not have a ton of recipes.

I would need something with the same trivial to replace them with.

It does not look like they are that rare though, jsut that there are price gougers.

I've seen 1 in baz since por game out, and 0 boot gaskets.

failure yields 1 gem cutter, and a 4kdd to the pc.

Chances are this would make the quest TOO easy, as there is supposed to be some degree of difficulty in getting the drops. Changing those would make tinkering's quest the easiest of all of them I believe.

Just curious Ngreth... since the DoN cultural armor has the increased chance to skillup logic, if you have this trophy equipped when doing those, does the trophy get increased experience from those combines?

No

The trophy does not know about that piece of data. (I would use it if it did, but it just does not get that information sent to it, as it is not available to the trophy, that data is not sent through)

For now I am *just* removing the collapsed distillery. The affects all 3 tasks it is on.

I am not sure this will make it in the patch tomorrow or not. I will try.
