Maybe the Metal Shaft is a Clockwork Gnome Shaft, as opposed to the Small Clockwork Shaft specifically mentioned...

The Vurin recipe was missing from the book.

I added it, but it will not be in the book Until the 12th or so (next items patch)

So...

if I remember the text is something like

"Shape some shillskin bones with your planing tool, then finish it with a shadowmane pelt"

Something like that...

btw for the ambleshafts gear box, the last combine is almost correct, you have the wrong screws. the combine should be

this combines into the ambleshafts gear box, but umm i havnt realy made any yet since my tinker sucks as tinkering (214 raw skill) and as such i have failed every combine (all 20 of them so far )

Woot =) Burins working fine... Now... if only those shadowmane pelts would drop in Dreadspire - it appears that the racial loot tables - pelts/hair/claws/etc - got left off of the mobs in Dreadspire =( have to go back to lower level zones to farm parts for the burins + completion of the book tasks =(

Everything else seems to have 10 parts to it, so I'm guessing we're probably missing something. I tried the above combine with Poxysmit's Gearbox Top, Mana Battery - Class 5, Mana Battery - Class 6, Epicthiek's Power Belt (the regular one), and a couple other random things for the 10th part with no luck.

Yup... book text says screws, recipe actually uses the bolts though.. both items have the same loretext though.

"The lost notebook mission" on hard is a non respawning version of the hive - mobs mostly red con. Skinwalker mobs of various types in this (north entry to hive) drop Shadowmane pelts - got a few of them this way. Its also an excellent way to explore the hive "safely"

Also one of the gems for the evolving ranged quest drop rarely from this instance

The scribbles book text says "The mechanoinstruction holepoker is another important device, because without ityou could not make the instructions that are needed for the amagamator." Is it possible the tenth part is the instructions?

That burin recipie is correct, fletching trivial of 276. Made it yesterday. (Which reminds me I should prolly post that in the database submissions forum).

That sounds to me that the holepoker makes the instructions which are then used in the combine in the amalgamator itself. I haven't goten around to making a holepoker yet though so I can't really say for sure. I've tried pretty much everything I have laying around on my tinkerer in that 10th slot, inclucding Ambleshift's/Scrindite's/Poxysmit's Gearboxes, and no dice on a valid combine. The 9 basic items are also DNC in a forge. Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Manual (the book resulting from the mechanoistruction scraps quest) is tagged as tradeskill usable, so maybe that's it. Don't have DoD yet to try it out though. Also, I don't think I've seen the text from Epicthiek's book yet, so our missing item may be in there? All this assuming there even is a 10th item.

Something is bugged on the mechanoinstruction reader recipe. I tested that one before expansion went live -the book text is the same as it was then, but the recipe is no longer the same.
