Farming Yttrium

I decided to go with Master level cultural armor to advance most of the rest of my way to 300 (doing occasional combines and such for friends/guildies, and hoping for skillups off of those). Buying the stuff in the bazaar at 500pp/brick is obviously out of the question, so which is faster to farm the stuff at with a high 60's SK/Shammy duo - The Grey or the deep? Of course, if there's somewhere else I could look, please point it out to me. With just my SK, I can keep the entire 6 spawns in the grey clear, so once I get my shammy operational it should be even easier (probably too easy). I've tried both camps, and the drop rate in the grey seemed significantly better than the deep, but maybe I'm wrong where I'll be able to do more spawns at once in the deep.

Go to the shrink wand camp in the deep. I got a stack in a hour or so killing there solo, nothing a shaman ad sk can't handle, plus a shrink wand to boot! Think in two nights of camping, maybe 3 hours total(could have been four) I got 38 pieces.

i've been farming that ore in the deep, and farmed about 8 stacks in the course of a week. i must say the skill ups from 8 stacks starting at about 260, was not as good as i was hoping for. with a moded skill of 277, i was good enough to make my first gm peice

I spent an hour and a half in the Deep, and got one brick of Yttrium before I got annoyed and gave up. I'm still sitting at 283 wondering how to finish this skill...

Evram, from the sounds of it, that first camp of thought horrors I think you're at, doesn't drop yttrium very often. Have to go a bit further in, there's a named guy on the map who drops that shrink wand, kill the thought horrors around him. My guildies have said that's where the yttrium in the deep drops. I sat at that very first camp of 4 for an hour and got one brick as well, was really annoying.

Actually, I wasn't at the first thought horrors. I was clearing the path that heads back the the THO. I have a 70 Necro, so I can burn though the thought horrors pretty easily. I killed right thru the shard camp (was pretty annoyed that I got 5 shards in an hour, since I spent more than 11 hours in there being the unluckiest player in EQ while farming the shard for my key) and about 2 turns down the path toward THO.

Oh, those are the *elder* thought horrors... those don't drop it, has to be the slightly lower level thought horrors.

Really? ****. Who'd have thought I was killing mobs that were too strong? LOL
