I believe that is meant as a clever trap to lure froggies into attempting to tinker, thus causing extreme harm. They seem bent on finding ways to encourage people to play frogs, it would at least be a nice nod to tinkering if they though that was a carrot though.Comment

I believe it's just a bug. When frogs became rogues, necros, and SKs several items that were previously gnome equippable became frog usable too. My guess is that they rushed the script and many things that should have been excluded (such as many gnome cultual pieces) were accidentally tagged FRG. Watch for them to undo many of these things eventually.Master Artisan Kahmon

Like I mentioned in the other thread on this, I believe that adding frogs onto the gnome DoN cultural was intentional, at the very least. Regular frog plate armor is WAR, CLR, PAL only... no SK's - the only other small race that can be SK's are gnomes. The frog plate cultural is called Protectorate, and SK's don't quite seem like protectors, so it would seem a bit out as far as RP aspects (not the most elegant solution precisely, but... eh). Somebody try rolling a frog SK and getting it up to level 16, see if it can tinker. I sure hope not, but if so... *sigh*.Comment

Better check those items again, this is from the Spet 7th patch message.- After much chafing, and a few cracked ribs, the froglok have decided that gnome cultural armor is no longer wearable.Comment

With great eagerness and anticipation I read the patch message from September 7, 2005. I read about the armor that once belonged exclusively to gnomes having been marked for FRG to wear. I read that once again it would belong exclusively to gnomes. So, hurriedly I looked at the Tinkering Geerlok. Sadly..... no change. It is still marked for use by FRG and Gnomes.
But perhaps there is hope. Stacking spell scrolls were also promised in the patch message. That did not happen.....Comment
