  • Does invis potions stacking = nerf to GVD??

Rumors from summit point to making invis potions stack. Does this mean one of the few useful things left to tinker gets tossed in the box with all the other Tink gear that's been nerfed over the years?

Someone tell me I'm crazy. I hope some good news for Tinks shows up soon.

I doubt it will effect GVD sales. Assuming that you can have 10 shot invis potions, thats 2 inventoy slots for 20 charges. With a GVD + a stack of class 5 batteries thats 105 charges. Also, some people PL their alts/friends/guildies in PoI and keep teh batteries that drop for their GVD's.

A stack of batteries and a GVD is not quite enough. You need a toolbox. That's 3 slots minimum. Course, if you use a GVD and some other tinkered gizmos then you only count the toolbox once.

      3 slots, 105 charges
      3 slots, 30 doses

A bigger issue is that potions can be hotkeyed and the GVD can't.
I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

Aye that too.. With the potion belt, you can have instant access to your invis all the time.. where the GVD you may have to dig through inventory a bit, equip it and wait on cast time.

In that sense potions seem more attractive now. Especially if your using a custom UI. We'll have to see how the new fixed duration invis potions work as well.

The obvious fix would be to make the GVD have an instant casttime. To compensate for it they might need to up the cost per invis by using 2 batteries and/or class 6 for 5 charges.

But i agree, the poor tinkerer has a hard enough time with the GVD and the rarity of the haze panther eye

Also killing that market would kill a combine on the skillup path to 300- And yes it won't be a bulk production but over the lifespan of a tinkerer's skillup work he/she will almost certainly make a few of these

Alchemists have been making 10 dose invis potions since LDoN. These are the same ones that got upgraded to fixxed duration invis a few months back. However, they require a foraged component from Guk LDoNs to create. While acquiring haze panther eyes is a pain, you only need 1 eye, and a bunch of batteries. For the potions you have to forage one swamp vine for every charge. So this is not something that is on the horizon, we've been coexisting with it for a few years already, and GVD's are still selling fine.

The bigger the gap between the quality of the invis becomes, the more likely it will be for the coexistance to fail. So if potions get improved too much it will most definitely have an effect on potential sales. GVD is not fixed and not instant cast and needs equipping in the offhand slot. Those restrictions will ultimately make the GVD not a prefered option for invis
