  • Throwing Knife Stamper Upgrade??

Has anyone heard of any news if the items this device summons are going to be upgraded?.

Given what it takes to make and in comparison to the other item that summons the same sort of item (and number of expansions later), the daggers this item summons is very disappointing.

    Mrylokar's Bracer = Kunark Era ( summons Damage 6/ Delay 36 /Range 55 daggers)

Throwing Knife Stamper = OoW Era (summons Damage 5 / Delay 36 / Range 45 daggers)

These are the basic throwing dagger, not meant to be anything special.

The device is a space-saver for those that use daggers to pull.

Well perhaps you could tune the recipe to not include such insanely hard items to get (tentacles) if it's supposed to just be "nothing special".

The fact those tentacles are needed for this and for the Ice Cream Churn, add into the mix that we also need NO DROP kelp salts for the ice cream and I'm really disappointed. Something that could have been so much fun is just work.

For something not meant to be anything special, I think it has an awfully long recast time. It takes 5 seconds to summone the stack of throwing knives, then you have to wait 10 seconds before you can summon a second stack. I know some players prefer to summon several stacks ahead of time, rather than summoning as you go. To have the puller out of action in a chain pulling group is somewhat of a bother. Is there any chance to see the recast timer reduced?

The only people this item would be useful to are casters.

Rogues have the Mrylokar's Bracer shown above that summon's a dagger with +1 dmg and +10 range compared to those the stamper produces. The bracer isn't easy or cheap to get, but isn't going to be significantly more expensive or time-consuming than getting 2 severed feran tentacles.

Non-rogue, non-caster classes just need warmly CoV to be able to do a very easy Skyshrine quest for the Bracer of Hammerfal which is clickable from inventory with a 3.5 second cast time and summons a stack of Shattering Hammers that have Dmg 9 Dly 30 Range 55.

2 Severed Feran Tentacles? Try 4. Each stamper needs 2 pistons, which require 2 Boot Gaskets each. Things could be worse, each boot gasket could need 2 tentacles, which it might as well, heck make it 4 each. 16 feran tentacles per stamper! Then have them drop in Dranik's Scar.
I paid around 1k each for the tentacles I used, luckily my tailoring combines went well but I'll never sell the stamper. It's up for sale at a rediculous price just to show I made one.

With 45 range I'd say the pulling aspect to these are somewhat.. limited. That's practically within normal aggro range already.

I have made 2 of these

My trader has 2 of these on him. I just looked at them.

There is no slot designation on them.

I haven't been able to fit this item in any slot. I haven't tested it by using any charges even from main inventory slot.

I put a Throwing Knife Stamper together on my server and reluctantly put it up for auction. Reponses were immediate and relatively united. Its a piece of crap. At some point about 6 months ago - SOE added the "stone throw" skill for level 1 monks elminating the need to ever really carry throwing items until higher levels - when they would have access to items like the Thurg/EP bracer. And the range blows. Gimme a "steam thrusted throwing knife" with range 100 and this would sell.

At this point, this looks like the first last and only Throwing Knife Stamper I'll ever make.

                        /em smiths a prybar

/em applies prybar to clockwork watchman bracer and pops out the "summon wrench" component.

/em applies a glob of gooey goo to the throwing knife stamper and jams it onto the bracer using some metal twine to hold it still 'till the glue dries.

There, no more crappy wrench. Now it's a crappy knife.

I think it would be nice to see something added to this so that different quality sheets of metal would produce different quality throwing knives. something with a greater range than 45 or something with a "magic" tag on it. It would be potentially more useful.
