  • Million $ Tinkerer question of the day

So, I was in SH the other night buying some baking items from the Poison Vendors and lo and behold I see one of them is selling Geerlocks for 1pp and some change each. The Brewing, Baking, Tailoring and Jewelry Geerlock to be exact. So, hailing my own good luck at finding these for so cheap I buy one of each, then another, then another. This vendor has an unlimited supply it looks like.

My question is, did I just get dang lucky or did they start having vendors start selling these? If that's the case then there is nothing worthwile, to me, for my new Gnome to Tinker for. I also can't think of anyone selling their Geerloks that they make to a vendor for less than a plat.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The buy back cost from venders for Geerlocks has always been that low, what your ran across is where some one powered leveled their skilled and sold the finished goods back to that vender.

Most real Gnomes (those that play a Gnome to play, not just have a Gnome to tinker) will either destroy the items (i do) or sale them to a vender that is over stocked or out of the way.

Several of us in the Tinkering comunity have sent in petitions to VI to change the buy back prices but nothing has changed, and this has been on going since the Geerlocks came out.

HEY! I played a gnome just to tinker, but I don't think it makes me any less real. Once my gnome chanter turned 16, levelling finally became a viable solution. It was almost fun! I was shouting to Paladual "Level 16 Barbarian Enchanter looking for group." I even had one guy AMAZED when I changed form into a Dwarf. He wanted to know what masks I was using, or how I could do that.

And even though I started my gnome just to tinker, even I Know better then to sell to merchant Tekramas open slots. Or sell back to the geerlok merchants.

The HQ ore merchants are great. Carry 3-4 small bricks of unrefined ore on you, Sell hundreds of tradeskill products to one, then do the restock quest. POOF.

If you think thats bad, the colapsed items are worse. I found a colapsed toolbox on a npc merchant for... get this... 1 copper.

It was a really bad idea to make the colapsed items lore. It *encourages* vendor dumping.

however they sell to the vendor for 1cp each, so its not even worth it to combine, sell, combine, sell...

I was doing a run of spits... made 10 putting them all the forge. I stood there with the forge locked as guildies came to pick them up. When they were done, I just clicked on each and the lore code destroyed them for me.

            even worse...

Corking device is a silver or so buyback, just had to see what a Merchant thought a Blue diamond is worth nowadays.

Guess they couldn't see it through the cogs and the grease.

No, it was a real good idea to make them lore. It *discourages* Bazaar dumping. Which is a far greater evil.

What is wrong is the price vendors charge for Collapseds. That should be considerably higher.
