  • DC in WL for Cultural Armor?

Any gnomish enchanters have tips on a good mobs to Dire Charm in The Wakening Land to farm parts for our cultural armor?

I nabbed a faerie dragon last night and that seemed to work well. I only used it against a few tar goos though. Do you think a geonid would be better? Or even the tar goos?

I didn't see any Faun Outcasts, but I think I was in the wrong place. I don't want to mess up my faction if I don't have to. But I did explore PoG while my faction is still good.

Can't help you on what DC mob to get but for Faun outcasts there's a ruin near Kael zone that 3-4 spawns, as well as another one some ways up north. They're only in ruins as far as I've found, never wandering the zone.

Yup. I found two ruins and they each have three outcasts. I tanked for my pet and took them down pretty easily. I just cast slow to pull, and one Arcane Rune lasts through all three fights in one ruin. About the time I killed the second set, the first one was respawning.

I DC'd a giant standing next to the outpost, but he didn't seem that much better than my pet. I like the ability to Summon Companion if it gets lost, so I may stick with the animation.

The faerie dragon worked well against the goo. I think I'll try a geonid next to see if they are any better.

Oh, and I finally got one faun hoof after about 15-20 kills. Shortly after I meant to cast nuke, but hit gate. Ack. And then I failed the combine on the observer boots. Ack again.

Well I was about to suggest the Wounded Storm Giant and that you should go check out the thread on Dire Charming on TheRunes....... Then I recognised your name.

        Hello Cerpicio.

        /Zmatil waves at Cerpicio

Watch out for the Tunarean Court faction hits if you go after the Sifaye Dust for the helm. Unlike the Outcast Fauns no-one has yet identified any Sifaye which don't give faction hits.

Yup, I've seen that thread about DC recently and saw the Wounded Giant listed. Does he have high DPS, or just high HP? I'm looking for something with high DPS to kill them quicker.

I took my 56 ranger there and killed a couple. I got a faun hoof on the first kill! But then Virtue ran out and I had trouble killing them, so I just took off. Fortunately I was successful on the boots, so now our guild cleric has a full set of Observer armor along with our main tank. (Yes, we are a very small guild, but what do you expect when you only allow Gnomes to join?)

          Thanks for the tips.

Small in stature but gigantic in intellect and bravery (and with a pair of Anizok's tucked in our backpacks to cut any Ogre Warrior down to size when they start mentioning Kabobs again - they go oddly quiet when faced with a gnome twice their current height)

Haven't tried him myself yet but from what I've read about him he's got lower dps since he can't dual wield. He's favoured because of his HP's and considered to have higher than normal HP regen.

To derail slightly from enchanter DC (but since you can still use him), the best druid DC in WL is the "black" unicorn. Over by the PoG entrance are the unicorns, most are white. The "black" one (with no different name, still "a unicorn", but he is a different mob) is a bit higher and definitely more bad "bottom", if you know what I mean.

He's on PoG faction, but I just gate or evac when I'm done with him so I don't take the hit. He's a rare spawn of the unicorns and not always up, but if you're running around looking for a DC mob, you can add him to your list of mobs to check.

Aye, he has lower dps.. but, his hp's/regen more than make up for it if you're going to be hunting for any real length of time.,,,ersonally, i think it's hp's. He's not going to die fast to anything in zone. You can leave 2 unslowed genoids on him, and they won't be able to kill him before they die.

lower dps than perhaps what an enchanter can DC, but he's the best in the zone that a druid can DC. =)

Gnomish cultural armour is called Clockwork Armour and is split into the following types:
                      Clockwork Watchman (Basic Plate)
                      Clockwork Observer (High Grade Plate)
                      Clockwork Shadowwalker (High Grade Chain)

It's not smithed though, it's tinkered. Probably the reason you have missed it. Essentially the Clockwork Observer (plate) is the same quality as Dwarven cultural Underfoot armour but all clockwork armours also include rechargeable clicky effects e.g. the boots have clicky SoW, the Bracers summon 1hb spanners, the Gloves have clicky +30 str and the Breastplate has an inbuilt vanishing device giving 20 charges of clicky invis. Expensive to make but an important rite of passage for tinkers, if for no other reason than to be able to say that you have made a set.

I'm not making a set on my tinkerer...components are too expensive and no one would pay what the pieces are worth in the bazaar.

I think they're neat, but pass.

I agree completely, far too expensive to make for sale in the bazaar ....... but for me I wouldn't feel right as a tinker unless I had made one full set. It's just my own view.

The black unicorn is a shadow knight and the best thing about them is they fear so they take less hits. You need some kind of snare for whatever it's fighting though because if they fear and haven't landed a darkness, which they rarely cast first, the mob will take off and your not likely to find it.
