  • Cheirometric Lockpick Device?

Is the triv on this item correct, >250?

It seems like this would be prefect for topping off your skill. I'm up to 244 (finally made my trophy!) but it is hard to find things to finish off the last few points. I haven't gotten my smithing up high enough to make armor, and my smithy friends aren't on when I am. Otherwise I might try more cultural armor, but that's pretty expensive just for practicing.

From what I can tell, all the parts for Cheirometric Lockpick Device are on vendors, though the class six mana battery is a bit pricey.

So basically what I'm asking is, is this device a viable option for maxing out my skill?

I'll try it sometime this weekend.

    Thanks,

    Item is lore

Given the cost to make, and the fact that it's lore, doesn't make it a good skillup path if you're trying to top yourself off quickly. I make them to skill as well, but only one at a time when restocking my mule.

But at this level, what else is there to practice on?

Woks and crab crackers required an uncommon drop-only item.

Cultural armor require diamands (blue diamonds?) and a pricey piece of armor.

Cams (molten and ... something else) are again uncommon and pricey drop-only items.

Class six mana batteries at least are vendor sold, and still half the cost of any diamond. Or is there another item in the recipe of the cheirometric lockpick device that costs more?

I guess the Gauze Press trivs over 250, but those are already over-produced and under-priced (considering what you have to go through to get steel casings).

      Thanks,

For me Steel Casings are cake to get (Gnome Rogue). Its those darn Steel Ball Bearings that are a pain to get.

I used mostly woks and crab crackers myself, though skill ups also came from some armor and GVDs. Cams weren't available at the time. The CLDs I just keep one in stock on my trader.

CLD has a few other factors against it besides the cost. You need pinions and Steel Ball Bearings, both of which are drops. You need to travel a bit, since chainmail gloves, tinkering supplies, rats, and lockpicks are rarely found in the same zones. And it isn't a fast turn around item, so you'll be eating the losses fully on most of them.

You're above 240. There is no real point to gaining more skill except pride. So why rush it? Look for carapaces and knuckle joints in the bazaar, buy any that are below X. X was 50 for me. And check vendors, of course.
It's up to you, what you do will decide your own fate.

i agree, after 240 theres no rush. no reason to dump hard earned plat into tinkering, hold out for good deals. i buy clockwork carpasses, knuckle joints, clockwork grease, haze panther eyes, elemental metals for bow cams when i see them for cheap.

(wherever your server is pve-wise chooses your cheapest and most common elemental components)

skill 244 + 5% (12) = 256 but max skill is 252 so dont worry about it your already maxed (well until they make a planar power AA just for trade skills).

If youre 244, youre basically done. Make yourself a tinkering geerlok and enjoy maxed, 252 skill.

If you *reeeely* want 250, then vendor mine merchants in PoTranquility, PoK for any of the above mentioned items.

Oce you ran out of crab cracker/wok combines, ask a friendly ubermonk to empty out his bags and buy you a mess of casings in PoI.
