How much money do you have to spend on it?

How much tedious farming are you willing to put up with?

Ribbons CAN be the fastest way from 158-187, depending on the availability of dye and dye ingredients on your server.

My suggestion is to print out ALL the ribbon recipes and dye recipes and don't have preferences. Get what you can get in the bazaar. Like you, my halfling tailor also can't use them to make robes, so she did whatever she could get. One day she scored 120 plant shoots in the bazaar for 1p each, so that was pretty lucky.

            Dye Material

I have been looking for supplies for dyes on Druzzil Ro, and supplies seem very limited, so as someone else suggested in these forums, I contracted with 3 rangers to farm Seahorse Roe and Bamboo shoots for me at 600 pp/stack.

I absolutely dread farming, so this suggestion was very appealing to me. It also allows me to better allocate what little time I have to playing to do other things like trading in the bazaar, farming pieces of velium in CC (although I just usually buy them for 25pp/piece or less), fish for cod, exp, or camp a rare; whatever I am doing, in my opinion I feel like I am accomplishing much more than I am when I am out farming something such as dye components; just dang frustrating imo (besides, I can't forage anyway, which appears to be the best way to obtain many of the dye components). I also feel I can offset this expenditure by camping a rare in that amount of time, which will more than pay for itself, or by advancing my level so that I have more of an opportunity at bigger and better loot. I also figure that the quicker I make it to 250 in tailoring, the faster I can begin earning back some of this huge amount of coin I am spending trying to accumulate all these dang components.

Anyway, just thought I would share, because someone had suggested this idea in another thread and I seemed to have latched onto it.

I too have been lucky to find some dye components at relatively inexpensive prices in the bazaar. They are few and far between, but I am amassing a supply of them in addition to what I am paying my ranger friends to farm for me. I don't know how many attempts I will need in order to make it to 187, but I figure that whatever I have left I can sell at a profit; muh ha ha.
