  • Skill ups and sucesses with Woodelf cultural..When to start?

I currently Have a skill of 212 and am getting sick of the same ole Solstice robe combines and not to mention could use some dough. At my skill level with geerlock whats the odds I will get Sucesses?

I'd personally rather know the odds of managing to get enough excellent sabertooth hides to actually skill up with. My luck farming these has been absolutely horrible. One hide in six hours worth of farming (three in LOIO and three in OT). It's easier to farm enormous amounts of velium for artic wyvern than that.

No one know at what skill I can expect a decent success rate?

It depends on your definition of "decent"

I found that from about 230 skill (plus geerlok) I could make things with about 1:3 success rate. My first attempt at cultural was at 225 or 226, where it took me 6 attempts to make a bracer.

I have a 210 tailoring skill. At 209, I was 1 for 2 on arms, 1 for 2 on BP, 1 for 2 on boots and 1 for 14 on bracers (Erudite cultural). That is good enough for me to continue trying (everything but bracers)

Wood elf cultrual isnt that hard...Excellent sabertooth hides are usually 10-5plat each in bazaar and thats a awesome price! oak bark you dont find to much but what I do is get into a good book and forage afk in kith woods =) I can usually get a stack in a day....or just hook up ps2 or tv near puter to watch and forage.....then you smith your mithril get any imbued emeralds you need (which I make those myself) and then your pattern

I usually farm things myself but sabertooth hides are just much to easy to get and easy to find when vendor mining.

I can get regular sabertooth hides for about 50pp and can find them on vendors. But the excellent hides run a minimum of 100pp each on Fennin. And there's never more than about 20 for sale at a time. I'd rather skill up on solstice robes than pay 100pp per hide for sabertooth hides, along with having to spend hours foraging in Kith. I've never ever ever seen an excellent sabertooth hide in bazaar for 5-10pp. I rarely even see the regular ones for that cheap. Maybe it's just a server thing.

problably just a server thing yeah...Not many do Wood Elf Cultural Tailoring on my server I'm like the only person that I know of who does those and makes it a good way for skillups because I buy hides for 25pp or less and I still get all I need....

I got 6 excellent hides in bazaar on Brell (25pp each). I am a master at all trades but no ware close to GM on tailoring (178). I am looking for someone to make the Tunarean Soldier tunic and waist band. I Will supply the materials required.

                    Kurwin,

I'd guess you'd get 25% success rate (or a bit less). Depends on the RNG. I remember doing a few WE cultural at the skill just for fun. I wouldn't suggest doing it for skilling up or to make cash...but if you don't mind blowing some expensive components in hopes for something a little different to sell, then why not?

I think I was around 25% when I started trying it at 228 skill. I got lucky on the first few tunics and legs Then I tried making some bracers and went 0 for 11

For me arctice wyvern and tigerapter was the way to go.

                        Wow

I honestly don't think I've ever had much luck farming hides on Mithaniel Marr. Last time I checked the Excellent Sabertooth Tiger Hides were going for 200 pp each. Course I haven't checked lately, since I decided there was no way I was going to attempt any cultural (due to the scarcity of hides). Anyway, you're at 212, you should have a decent success rate with a Geerlok.
