Has anyone experience the mobs in erud's crossing getting stuck in the walls of the the volcano? It has happened to me 2 times now on the bertoxx server. I am there to collect seahorse roe for the ocean dyes for the erudite robes. The first time the gm was nice enough to release the mobs. But just now, the gm told me to bug report it and didn't do anything else. I bug reported it but if no one else is having the problems on other servers I don't think anything will be done. Does this happen on any other servers?

I think this is related to another problem I heard of, where a bunch of newbie mobs in Butcherblock keep getting stuck in the sides of hills. Guide said something about them getting rid of mobs being able to fall 'under the world' and this seemed to be the result. I expect it'll be fixed next patch or something.

I was reading somewhere (maybe on Paladins of Norrath? I forget) that an identical effect was happening in PoStorms. All the wanderers were getting stuck in a wall, and when some poor fellow tried to dislodge what he thought was one mob, he got the train to end all trains on his tail. Apparently something like 20 mobs rushed out at him.
Me, I'd have had a heart attack, I think. =)Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

I went with a ranger so I could track. The snakes kept getting stuck at a certain spot inside the volcano. I was able to target one with F8, aggro it, and it would come above ground when it chased me.
I mostly just stuck to seahorses though, it's easier.83/1000 High Elven Enchanter on cazic (8x300 tradeskills)

I have noticed over the past couple weeks that it seems to be more frequent to track a mob and end up in a dead end - a wall or a hill. I was hunting spiderlings in EC, for example, and found some stuck (and not visible) in the walls of Freeport.
The not-so-encouraging news is that there are places where this has been happening for as long as I can remember (e.g. the caves outside Dalnir's in Warsilks woods) and has never been fixed.

This has been a consistent problem when I head to Eastern Karana to forage tea leaves (and hunt pelts or silks for guildmates); for the last few months, I can pretty much expect at any point in time there is at least one hill giant on track who cannot be found (leading me to believe he is under the world). One time, there were THREE! I'm sort of amused because right now there's a Tarbul Earthstrider wandering under the hills of central Eastern Karana on FV. I have /bug'd this several times and /petition'd once or twice. I think it's a fair guess to say this is a known issue that they're most likely working on resolving.Chase

A slightly different problem in Erud's Crossing:
Recently, after visiting the dock at the island, the boat will path through the island. If you're on the boat, you'll get dropped off on the island whenever your elevation would drop below the terrain of the island (in other words, you can't go through the island yourself while you're on the boat, just the boat itself). After it finishes going through the island, it will path back to the point where it would normally exit to Erudin, so if you can catch it on the other side, no harm is done, but it did produce some amusing screenshots.Velurian

hehe, kinda like the sharks in eruds crossing, they all pile up at the dock in one spot (even though on a patch msg they said they fixed it) it makes it nice if you need to farm shark skins, or if you want to avoid the nasty killer/plague sharks. i found the best way to farm seahorse roe is to get a ranger with good forage, kill the seahorses then kill as many wanderers(snakes and spiders drop sea horse roe) as you can while foraging as often as you can. this is the best/fastes/most efficient way of collecting it.

Thanks for all the answers. So they should now this problem exist then? I really hope they fix it soon. I had gone with my druid and was tracking the spiders and snakes but even f8 wasn't working for me to target them. Before I was having this problem I had my husband's druid (200 in forage) along with my druid (185 in forage) foraging but it just wasn't as fast as when I killed all the spiders and snakes. And I was usually unlucky with the seahorses, because they never dropped the roe for me. So I don't kill them anymore.
Well I guess I just have to wait and see if they fix it. Thanks again for the replies.

Newbie mobs in swamp of no hope, butcherblock seem to be affected very badly. It looks like the mob tries to path a certain way, and there is a hillside in the way, and after a time, they warp into the wall. If they get aggroed out, sometimes 4-6 mobs will come unstuck with them as well.
Tarbul and the hill giants hiding under the mountain for a smoke is something different, I think. They have been doing that for a very long time.
As for the patch supposedly eliminating mobs under the world, it only reduced them. But it did mess up things like the newbie mobs and the mobs in the desert in PoStorms.

I've seen the "mob inside hill" problem in Steamfont as well. A guildmate of mine went looking for mountain brownies the other day, and she was saying track was leading her in circles, but she couldn't see any visibly. Took my bard there, charmed something and typed "/pet attack a mountain" when I was near a spot that my track was telling me there was a brownie near. The pet would pull it out of the hillside, and I was able to see itDiania Moonspirit

Yet another bug in erud's xing
My ranger went there and oddly enough there was huge number of mobs (snakes in particular) up. Looking around there was nothing there. Track let me to a spot where I still couldn't see anything. I logged out and logged back in and saw ALL the snakes and spiders and bats on the island in one bunch not moving. About 5 seconds later they disappear. You can kill one at a time (make sure to snare or the mob will poof in 5 sec too) with logging for every mob. However, realistically seahorse roe is no longer a viable skill-up path.
They should just take down the zone and fix it once and for all. Or make a new one.250 Jewelry Making (JCM2)

I've been having the same problem when hunting for spiderling silks in Misty Thicket and Innothule Swamp. I will track a mob and it just isn't there. Its in the hill, in the tree, under the ground, etc. I petitioned and got the response from the guide that mobs are sometimes falling under the world in the newbie areas. I am not going to try farming for silks until I see a fix, hopefully in the next patch.

One way to beat the bug in Erud's
I have been to Erud's a few times since the problems started happening as well. Anyway, I noticed one time (well tracker did after I noticed no mobs) that all the mobs were actually gathered under the volcano in the very bottom of it. So, I did /tar a_kerra just to target something and lo and behold, I've got a target... Then just bring up a nice AE spell and whammo! I instantly had about 30 corpses all around me for the looting. I've done this twice now. Got about a stack and a half of seahorse roe for 20 min work.
