    Tailoring

Started Soliste Robes at 187 (after LoY Ribbons), and did approximately 300 Combines to get to 203 (1 in 20ish).

Then moved onto Arctic Wyvern combines, so far I have done 700 combines to 230 (1 in 26). I have over 500 more hides in bank, will see how these go.

I have gone as many as 160 combines with 1 up. My BEST was only 22 combines with 1 up. Never seen better than 1 per 22. Tailoring is my last skill to work post 220. Its harsh. Pottery has a worse skillup / combine chance, but at least the items are cheap or easily collectable. Tailoring = brutal.
Whee, 187 to 222 tailoring in 680 combines, roughly 19.4 combines per skillup. Best run I had was 6 skill ups in a single stack of combines, although I did have to take a break midway through the stack to have more gem studded chains made. I wasn't logging, but just wanted to mention that sub 20 combines per skillup is possible :P

Wish you could view some of my old posts on my skillup runs. I have had quite a number of skillups on 1 combine, 2 combines, 3 combines and so on. I have never had any combines higher than 80 for 1 skillup. The RNG has been very good to me so far. And just to let you know... the best Wis I've had so far on ANY skillup run has been 243. Most times it's been between 200 and 220.

          skill up rate

Spektor definitely seems to have been ripped. His results suggest 3x the failure rate for having 305 wis. Either someone is bragging/lying/misinformed/didn't count correctly/etc or unbelievably you can just blame the random thingymajig.

I agree with Iumono, from looking at the posts on here, the skill up rates for arctic wyvern and the solstice robes appear to be around 20 combines a skill up based on an average 280 wis.

The RNG bit you in the butt this time. *comforts*
Everytime I see that I gotta laugh. As in RNG = ranger

How about we do it right and just use RND for random. Make something up like random number doohicky.

Sounds like my experience with Aid Grimel tailoring. I got stuck at 219 and I went around 150ish combines for that last point. I had a ton of combines..

Needless to say I hate tailoring. I'm either GM or 250 with Geerlock in everything BUT Tailoring.. Sadly I'll never be 1750 cause of tailoring =(

From what I've seen, it largely doesn't matter once your Wis hits 200. My wife's Halfling Warrior has spent ungodly amounts of time working tailoring to hit not nearly high enough, while my Ogre BST, who did 1-67 with the roots, then I went and bought up all the Crystalline Silks in the Bazaar to go from 66-97 over 60 combines. So far, up to my current skill (125 I think), I have averaged a skillup every other combine. If I can find the rest of the Crystalline Silks I need tonight, I should be able to go all the way up to the upper 150s tonight easily. I think I'm gonna make a general set of Wis gear for tradeskilling, since it's just been kinda silly the difference in combines/skillup between my BST and my wife's Warrior.

Oddly enough, KEI seems to make a difference, for what it's worth. Fionnah (the BST) seems to get more skillups with KEI than without. Of course that might just be the RNG playing games with me.... I have KEI 90% of the time anyway though.

in a previous thread I mentioned the people who claim sub 20 combines per skillup lie :P
My then level 20 wizard, with 255 INT took brewing from 0 - 250 with an average skill up rate of 1 per 8.74 combines .

Now, his 188 - 250 skill ups were more like 1 per 20.3 combines , but you get the idea.

Then we have my blacksmith... took him 327 combines to get from 201 to 202. /cry
