Ornate Silk Patterns

Most people are getting them from either BOT minis or from SolRo yard trash.

This is a quest item that you have to have Killed in the Planes in order to even get the Kit. BTW the kit to make the gear costs 500PP.

Ornate molds drop from top named mobs in Tier 2, from all sorts of named in Tier 3 (BoT/HoH/Tactics), and off any mobs in 'Tier 3.5'(ToSR)

This isn't entirely accurate. I am level 61 with no flags and I was able to get the Emblem and Kit.

You have to be at least 55 to do Ornate armor, I tried once each level from 48 to 55 with my froglok wizard to give plat to Bor Warhammer and he only took it once I hit 55, and the frog was flagged all the way up to solro the whole time.

This still leaves it open to doubt whether an unflagged character could do it at 55. I would like to know as I have an unflagged level 55 SK alt. Anyone know?

(Although, if, as you say, Bors returns the 500p if you aren't high enough, it is safe to try it out with my alt).

(I myself am level 62, have no flags, and am now the proud owner of ornate tunic - clicky 50% spell haste - and boots - FT3!!!, woot. Pity they dyed my feet green - but that is easily solved with prismatic dye).

I am completely unflagged and level 56. I'm wearing an Ornate Plate Helm now. Bors talked to me as early as 55 and offered me the forge thingy, but I didn't need it then. I gave him the 500pp at 56 and he happily handed me the forge.

I must add that it is POINTLESS to obtain the pattern without the skill to actually do the combine...

Now unless I was doing something wrong... I actually had my first tradeskill frustration yesterday when I finally got the pieces parts to do the swatch combines for my ornate silk boot pattern and was told my skill was not sufficient to even think about doing this combination... and my skill is 198 with geerlok...

SO, into the bank it goes till I get a few more tailoring points...

You must have a high enough skill level to do the combine...

Swatches, cured ethereal energy, ethereal metal rings, and ethereal sheets are needed for the combine(depending on class), but these pieces are only able to be made by a tradeskiller of 220skill modified. These pieces are droppable however, and can be purchased in your servers bazaar I'm sure. If not just find a tradeskiller of the appropriate level (tailor for swatches, ethereal energy, blacksmither for rings, sheets) to make the items for you. To do the final combine of the patter/mold plus the swatches/energy/rings/sheets requires no skill in any tradeskill, and is no-fail.

Thanks Methis... I should have mentioned the same... I forgot about the 220s skill rule... and I'm NOT paying bazaar prices... not when I'm gonna get there anyway...
