  • Tailoring from 160-250

Okay i hear people saying "Whats the fastest way to 250, money is no problem"

I need to know a way to go from 160-250 but i don't have a lot of money and because of the money i won't be able to get the fastest route, so what is a good route to go from 160-250? Ways to make pp would be helpful also becuase i know tailoring isn't cheap at all.

....and really the answer is the same: look at the recipes, and make stuff.

There is no magic forumla, there is no "only" way to do things, especially with a skill like tailoring.

There are guides here: http://www.eqtraders.com/learn.htm for all the skills, all you have to do is read and follow the one/s you like. More questions can be answered in the FAQ that's stickeid up at the top of this forum. You can also gain insights by reading all the other threads from people askign the same question, although most of those are filled with answers similar to.. "look, read, and do combines."

For the short version.. combine everything you can. Tailoring is not like the other skills, where a single thing is all you need to concentrate on. All the tailoring materials are either uncommon to get, or very expensive to try... and ALL of them are time consuming.

Ok i have another question. I it really worth it? I see the top end combines aren't that great and are really tough combines. And i really don't want to waste all the time and energy it takes to gm tailoring.

Looks like you are a wood Elf druid... if that is correct then Tailoring is a good path. Although at 58 you may have better armor than you can tailor it is still worth it in my opinion... I look at it for my 55 Druid and consider some of the parts that you can make upgrades to his armor... PLUS there is the warm fuzzy you get by saying that you made all the armor you wear... Ohhh and lastly the market for player made Leathers and silks still seems viable even on a server as old as Tunare.

There are few better items that are better than some of the items that a wood elf druid can make as a GM tailor (culturally speaking). I know, because my friend is a 250 Woodie druid tailor and has made money hand over fist (and continuing to do so). Compare what you have to what you can make. That should give you an indication of what will sell (generally).

the answer for you second question depends on yourself, and the goals you have.

If you want to be a gm tailor, because you want to be a gm tailor.. then yes.

If you want to be a gm tailor because you feel you're being forced to.... probably not. If you're doing it for a quest, realize that tailoring is an evil beast... and if you don't like tradeskills (at a bare minimum), you'll hate tailoring. If the quest item is worth the hell of learning somethign you don't like.. then yes; if it's not.. then no.

If you want to do it to make plat in the long run... yes, you can. There are a variety of PoP items that a pretty nice, and a decent number of older items that are still decent, and command a bit of plat when selling. That said, unless you dump an inordinately large pot of pp into it right off, your journey to get gm tailoring will be long, and tedious.

So, your answer depends on what motivates you. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but as in al tradeskills, the reason people dedicate themselves to them is as varied as the people themselves.
