  • Brute hides for skill ups

Collected them all week, sat down and made 100 combines and got 9 skill ups (193) (non bd masks).

What kind of luck have people had with the halfling cultural armor for skill ups and what seems to provide the best skill ups for 188+ ? Thanks for the information.

Personally, i combined anything i could get my hands on. Once i got to 242, then i stopped doing mass veliuos leather combines, cept for wyvern masks, and used those leathers to make sellable items. Most the 188+ stuff is just rare enough it's not worth the time to be selective.

      100 Combines --

Did you buy the HQ hides or collect them? I have been thinking of going this route myself, but after a weekend of vendor diving, Bazaar searching and generally crunching numbers, I am thinking of throwing Arctic into the mix.

I killed Brutes in FM for hours this weekend, for very few HQ hides. Admittedly, it was fun slaughtering the zone (Most of the time, I was alone there... remember the days of 60+ people....), and I even found time to go and kill everything that moved in the fort for some lichen clover.

Is it smart on my part to go the same route as you ( I am assuming you have already done these combines) or would it make more sense to go the mixture with Arctic wyvern combines?

Heck, at this point if I can get my hands on anything that is not more than 300p a combine, I will probably try it.

My halfling saves her acorn oil for making haversacks -- then uses the haversack sales to fund more tailoring.

I'm in the anything-I-can-get-my-hands-on camp at 195 -- acrylia reinforced, arctic wyvern, cobalt drake -- I have friends who are helping farm ingredients.

I don't plan to do halfling cultural (wearable) tailoring atm because I don't have that much acorn oil and save it for making bags.

Without the benefit of hard numbers to support this I think my skill-ups came faster when I was working in the late 100s to 220 on Non BD Cultural. I rarely got skillups off of veliuos leathers but it seemed better on the cultural.
