  • LoY Tailoring for Skillups

Ok, my wizzy has maxed out on Wu's and wants to keep skilling up so he has a better chance of succeeding at his 6th shawl. Looking at the recipes, LoY ribbons seems like a good path except for the PITA foraging. Any suggestions on how to make this a little easier and/or quicker?

I have a second account and was thinking of PLing a woodie ranger up to level 10 or so and just have him be my forage bish. I've also read that mobs in the same zone that you forage can drop the items I need, so I was thinking of having my wiz rampage through those zones AEing and hope for drops.

OR, I could just try dumpster-diving all the vendors near those zones and see if I can get lucky that way.

The second part of my question - which zones would all you fine folks recommend? Steamfont for water? West Commons for Plains Roots? Or elsewhere?

    Thanks for all the help!

If you just want to do ribbons, you can get the steamfont spring water fairly quickly by killing the kobolds in the camps by the druid rings in Steamfont. I got a stack in a couple hours this way.

However, if you want to be able to go further and actually use the ribbons to do robes (something I couldn't do as a woodelf) then you should make the ribbons you can use. I don't know what race your wizzy is, or I'd give you suggestions for where to get the drops you need.

        My apologies

I should have added race and level, could make a difference...

Snoopp is a 54 Froglok Wizard, and from what I've heard so far there are no Froglok cultural robes (or smithing) yet...so it would just be ribbons for skill up and maybe sell them...

Hehe.... I'm suprised nobody guessed this from your last name.

          I did. :-)

Type I Dye: Absolutely do Steamfont Spring Water. Go to Akanon, and check all the convienient vendors. Then do the same for the assorted vendors actually in Steamfont Mountains. Then go make use of the (very likely) several stacks you just bought. Repeat every couple of days until Type I Dyes are done.

Type II Dye: Go to FV. Kill Drolvargs. Lichenclover isn't common, but its the fastest Type II Dye that I've run across. This may take a couple days of farm/tailor cycles to finish that last cap to Type II Platinum, but imo its worth it.

Then ... cry ... because you're in the icky part of tailoring.

Alternate for Type I dye: Seahorse Roe in Erud's Crossing. You'll have the island to yourself, nothing above level 12 or so, very quick killing with a pet or similar, relatively quick repop. It's also the only special forage on the forage table, I believe.

Downside is that no one ever goes there, so you'll hardly ever find them on the kerran vendors on the isle.

Then, after you've made all the ribbons, sell them to me.
