Acrylia thimble and needle set?

I apologize if the answer to this question is staring me in the face, but I looked and didn't find it, sooo...

I have a stack of owlbear pelts, and am skilling up tailoring. Owlbear tunics looked like a free couple of attempts. However, I am not Vah Shir. Is there no way to get this necessary thimble and needle set without being handing in Vah Shir slate, and doing quest?

You have to do the quest to get the needle but the slate for citizenship needed to start the quest can be multiquested so it can be done by anyone.

If you are skilled enough to look at owlbear tunics for skilling up you should be able to do the quest without difficulty. Only really rare drop is the grimling fingerbones which may take a couple of hours.

One warning. The owlbear pelts needed are an uncommon drop so it's a slow route for skilling up. Very viable if you don't mind farming owlbears though. My last 16 points have come from owlbear tunics.
