  • Should I stop now?

After many kills and tons of plat my Erudite SK has a tailoring skill of 243. I also have a Grandmaster Tailor's Needle. If the skill cap of tailoring is 250 should I now stop trying to increase my skill in tailoring and work on another skill?

As always, any information is appreciated.

that a personal choice, do you wanna say your a 250 tailor or not? personally i would stop skilling up tailoring, do combines on items tho, if your making stuff to sell go with it. but i would stop hounding people down for otter fur and stuff. that just me, that 250 skill will come if you slowly do combines for friends and other people

      Depends on you.

If all you want is max skill, then by all means, get working on something else, you've reached the max effective skill of 252 already.

If you're doing it to say you're 250 (like a personal milestone), well, then keep at it.

As for me, once I hit 240, with geerlok or GM trophy, that's max skill, and it's time to move on.

Look at it this way, if you keep doing combines once in a while, you'll eventually hit 250 anyway... once you get to 240, the rest is no rush.

I sure would. Just keep a geerlock around and be happy with max skill. If you actually use your tailoring skill very often, or if some neat new recipes come out in the next expansion, your skill will go to 250 on its own with no effort at all.

            What they said. :P

I took my brewing to 250 instead of stopping because it was so easy to do. Tailoring, like smithing, is a rockhopper of a different color. If the gratification of reaching 250 is worth the additional effort and expense then go for it, but it won’t have any effect on what you can and cannot make.

I pushed on to 250, at least partly so I didn't have to keep explaining to people that my chance of a successful combine was exactly the same as that of a 250 tailor. I was never sure if they really believed me, especially when the combine failed.
