Skilups with 355 INT

I have been helping a friend with tailoring supplies, and wanted to post her skillup experience so far:

145-158 70 combines 5.38 combines/skillup
158-176 100 combines 5.55 combines/skillup
176-186 100 combines 10 combines/skillup
186-189 100 combines 33.33 combines/skillup

She used a tailoring geerlok (5%) on the last 2 sets of combines and had 355 INT throughout as a level 65 wizzie (Italica on The Tribunal server). Since 158 she has been doing arctic wyvern masks.

Those numbers seem about average. Starting at about 185ish, the combines to skillup ratio skyrockets (as your data suggests). Now, SOE may *say* they have no code that creates "hell" levels. But I think that the levels from 185 to 210ish are all a bit tougher than before that. Perhaps it has something to do with the distance from trivial, but that should only affect success rate. I did notice that on the same items, she had better skillup success from 158 to 185 than she did above 185. Perhaps the "hell levels" do exist despite the denials by the designers. /shrug Good Luck. =)

*comforts* to the bad skillup ratio on those last numbers. I have been keeping tabs on what my skillup rate has been and although I don't have exact numbers with me currently but since I started Acrylia Studded at 158 and Acrylia Studded/Reinforced at 163, I have had an average skillup rate of around 15 to 20 combines. My biggest number of combines on one skillup has been 80 and the closest one before the 80 is around 50. This has been with a Wisdom of anywhere from 207 to 245 depending on KEI and Bardsong.

Maybe the RNG has been extremely good to me, but I have never had a Hell Level and I am currently at 229 Tailoring.
