LoY ribbons are super I think

Do the LoY ribbons

Gold triv 162 and 167
Plat triv 182 and 187

every race has a dye that needs to be combined with a plat ribbon sold by
Kwyllon Geerlok in Gulf of gunthak
(1500, -215; in the lighthouse)

for the plat ribbons the combine is plat ribbon+ dye + Elm Handled Shears
Shears returned every time

Elm Handled Shears (smithing) = 1 Elm Bow Staff + 1 shear mold + 1 flask of water + 1 metal bits

shear mold sold in Gulf of Gunthak Kwyllon Geerlok
(1500, -215; in the lighthouse)

now for the dyes
2 types of dyes
all dyes are made by foraged item + flask of water in brew barrel

Dye A Type 1 forage Where foraged Cultural
Sylvan Dye Sylvan Berries Lesser Faydark High Elves
Cursed Dye Cursed Clover of Viesar The Overthere Dark Elves
Ocean Dye Seahorse Roe Erud's Crossing Eurdite
Berry Dye Honey Berry Frontier Mountains, Dreadlands Iksar
Steam Dye Steamfont Springwater Steamfont Gnome
Plains Dye Plains Roots West Commons Human

Dye B Type 1 forage Where foraged Cultural
Lichen Dye Lichen Clover Firona Vie, Field of Bone, High Elves
Fontier Mountains
Ashen Dye Ashweed Lavastorm Dark Elves
Bamboo Dye Bamboo Shoot Stonebrunt Mountains Eurdite
Maneater Dye Maneater Bud Swamp of No Hope Iksar
Cauldron Dye Cauldron Prawns Dagnor's Cauldron Gnome
Jaggedpine Dye Plant Shoots Jaggedpine Forest Human

dye A + plat ribbon goes to 182
dye b + plat ribbon goes to 187

These items are foraged easily enough but also drop off certain mobs in the same zones that they can be foraged.

Of course you can buy em in the bazaar too. I have been making lots of PP selling sylvan dye and lichen dye

Oh and anyone can make these ribbons. The robes that these ribbons are sumcombines for are only createable by the specific race.

If you don't mind farming...

Acrylia is easy to get, you just have to go to Acrylia Caverns. The drop rate there is AMAZING, plus the fact that you can get Black Acrylia, which can sell relatively well, mattering on your server and how many people farm it. In 2-3 hours I can get around 30 or 40 acrylia whatevers, but you're much higher level and (probably) have Dire Charm, so you can probably get closer to 50 in a couple of hours. Plus all the other drops (Acrylic chainmail, blackened acrylia, etc...), it's really a good zone since the update.

As long as you have WR bags, you can walk out of there with a boatload of ore, turn it all into small pieces, then bits... you know the routine.

Don't bother with DSP Sambatas, their drop rate really sucks (like what, 1 in 5 or 10?), Acrylia Caverns the Grimlings are about as hard as an IG and have about as many hp. They're higher level though, for some odd reason. Probably the fact that there are so many of them there.

AFAIK, those and the hopper hides are all you need for acrylia armor, so just work on that. No real reason to not do acrylia, unless your problem is the hides, then I'm just thinking that you need to find one of the highest level mobs in DSP and beat the crap out of all the hoppers with it. There's always MT too... but nobody likes that zone anyway

Velium Hound Fur (Western Wastes) can be combined with a silver thread (Storebought) for soft fur padding used in the 8th Shawl (or used to make sellable Royal Engraved Field Plate). Trivials at 176. Good for another 5 points.

Isn't making the ribbons a bit pricy?

depends what you mean by pricey, it about 32pp for a gold ribbon and 105 for plat ribbon, + you need to farm or buy dyes. And sheers is about 160pp investment(one time only)

But what are your other choices? rockhopper seem to be about 100pp a hide, and then there is acriya farming needed there. Velious pelt farming, and those are about 30-50pp a hide many combines needing 2 pelts/hides and those normally need other items too.

So i feel ribbons are great for time farming and price wise. Choice is yours tho

I try as much as possible to farm my own pieces. However its always important to look at how much money I could make in the time it takes me to get say 20 hopper hides or whatever your collecting.

If you can make more pp than the drops would cost thenmake the PP and buy what you can. Ribbons, hides etc.

On Saryrn I've seen hopper hide (superb/flawless) selling for 150pp up to 500pp. Very rarely are they under 200pp or the plat ribbons are the cheaper way to go in my case although rarely does anyone sell the pieces needed for dyes.

Can the ribbons be sold back to vendors? If so how much?

• #11
Made ribbons can be resold to vendors for about 25% of the ribbon cost. so a made plat ribbon sells back for about 24pp if i recall correctly and cold one was like 9pp. not to sure on the gold one, i didn't make all that many gold ribbons. They do sell in bazaar VERY VERY slowly, you can try it that way but it only sell to a since race that doing tailoring, and the robes aren't made in bunches normally so if your lucky 2 a week would sell, and that if you put it under the cost of the ribbon. Most likely tho you won't be selling them, if you of one of the races that can use the ribbon save them for LoY robes which would be nice for skill ups i assume, not sure. I'm a troll so they are all vendor sold now

Ribbons

Ribbons do not appear to be an option for Erudites, as I have never seen Bamboo shoots for sale in the Bazaar on Druzzil. Has anyone else experienced the fact that it is going to be nearly impossible to skill up off the ribbons because of the lack of availability of the foraged items?

What are people suggesting? That you create a ranger or druid capable of foraging these items? Hire someone to forage them for you? Tehy simply don't appear to be something that anyone is selling.

Advise please.

Thanks,

To expand on my previous post:

If I understand correctly from what I have read, you can use any of the foraged items to make the ribbons, but you can only make the robes if you make the ribbons designed specifically for your race?

Is this correct?

Yes, anyone can make any ribbon (max triv 187); turning the ribbons into robes (triv 212 up) is race restricted.

Bamboo shoots are condensed evil. Go with cauldron prawns or ashweed for the 'rare' dyestuff, unless you have a swatch for a beige ribbon robe (and then only get enough bamboo to do the robe or robes).
