Firestrand Curing Agent (Obsidianwood Sap)

Okay, failed 3 times already on my robe for the aid grimmel earring. So, back to PoFire for more farming . . . or so I thought. 13 hours later, not so much as a single sap. Has anyone gotten one from the spiders near the zone in? I had a guildmate get one from the big field of yellow cons where all the armor dropping nameds spawn, but I haven't had to camp that area for the saps yet. Am I just monumentally unlucky? Or has VI stealth screwed us again. I don't think I've gotten one since the patch.

Not really...the sap and the curing agent are only used for tailoring so anyone making it is making it for tailoring.

As for your question, I haven't gotten back to farming saps for the second earring at the moment, so not sure, but I'll try to find out in the next few days for ya.

Got 1 of them yesterday from a zone area spider. The drops have always been very rare and even moreso with many people now farming them.

does anyone know if the sap drops from the spiders in the field between the two castles or just at the IZ? the spiders down below are harder, but the exp would be much better so it would probably be easier to get people down there to farm... i know the first message posted that they drop there apparently, but i cant find any other mention... has anyone actually farmed down there and seen what the drop rate is? is it better than IZ?

Never camped em in the back personally since farming zone in with me and 65 warrior works out well enough for me. The stuff in back definitely requires a stronger group. I've seen several posts saying that the drop off the spiders back there so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

To the original poster yes they do drop at zone in. Thats where I farmed all of mine and just rescently finished this step of the earring. Haven't been back since the patch on monday but don't see why that would have changed it this step is already bad enough.

I've seen it drop from field 2 spiders.

All spiders in PoFire, except the DC-pets, can drop the Sap. I have camped both "Burning Forrest" Spiders and the field where Blazzax and friends roams. Even Babnoxis dropped a sap once... :shock:

It's possible to kite the yellow spiders if you got a big manapool and max FT. Usually I duo-kite yellows with a fellow wizard. One time we even got 2 saps on same spider. All in all I'd say I've made about 10 garments and tried many ways of spider hunt. Failed Robe 2 times though, at 250 skill. :x
