Rockhopper vs Greyhopper hide?

I've been killing greyhoppers and sometimes they drop greyhopper hides, and sometimes rockhopper hides.

The tailoring recipes are a bit unclear because they refer to rockhopper and hopper hides. I didn't see anything for greyhopper hides.

Can someone please clue me in? Are both hides interchangeable? Are rockhopper, greyhopper and hopper hids the same thing recipe wise?

They're different.
Greyhopper armor is made with 1 or 2 greyhopper hides and a pattern, and goes to 95 tops.
The different rockhopper hides can be used for many different things.

I see the greyhopper armour in the armour listings which will take me to 95. So save all of those drops.

What about the LQ rockhopper hides? I only see superb and flawless rockhopper hides used in the recipes..I must missing something...its going to be a snake and bite me I know.

LQ Rockhopper can be combined with shade silk thread to make leather padding as found here.

Rockhopper hides:
Flawless = reinfoced acrylia armor
Superb studded acrylia armor
HQ = 10- slot back back
MQ = No cureent use to me knowledge skin these down to LQ and make padding from them
LQ = make leather padding from them(LQ hide + silk thread(can be spiderling silk or shadling silk)

MQ rockhopper can be made into studded hopperhide armor. No one bothers with this since it's much quicker to make cured shadesilk armor. Far more silk drops than MQ hides.

LQ, MQ, and HQ are also used for various quest Tailoring combines during the Vah Shir Beastlord class quest. Some quest combines can actually be a little useful for skillups, like Owlbear tunic combine that trivs at 135. Most people sell the regular owlbear pelts for low pp, because most farmers only care about the Perfect Pelts for the Rallic Pack.

Also, runied hopperhides are used to make tattered hopperhide armor (exact same stats as patchwork). Tattered hopperhide is also used to make shaded hopperhide.
