  • I need some pelts...

On MM pelts are way too pricey so i need to farm some(Im makin 10+ stacks of leather padding). I tried Stonebrunt, which is good pelt wise but the mobs are too scarce most of the time. So I was wondering where i could farm for any type of pelt used for leather padding, except for ruined ones of course. I have a 40 druid to farm with so i guess ill be ok, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've always found the Rockhoppers in Shadeweaver's Thicket and the Greyhoppers in Marus Seru to have excellent drop rates for LQ pelts.

Marus will get you more pelts faster but you will still have to go to Shadeweaver's Thicket for the Shadeling Silk to make the padding. SWT has the added attracton of getting HQ pelts for backpacks that don't drop in MS. A very nice bonus.

Neither zone would be difficult for the 40 druid let alone you and them. Worst part would be SWT with the druid would be a bad spot for buff beggers.

      Shadeweaver's and MSeru....

Ok thanks alot, it seems like ill probably go to SWT, plus dont worry about silk, i bought and farmed 20 stacks of it and made 10 staks of thread so I just need the pelts. Thanks again!!

M Seru all the way. Each greyhopper will drop either a lq pelt, a greyhopper hide, or an egg.. and the eggs are the rare drop. Your pelts will be split roughly 50-50, and the greyhoppers pelts are good if you know someone who's skilling up pre-95 trivial.

The hopperhides can be made into padding with regular spiderling silk, which is a little easier to get.. well, at least a little nmore common.

Also, in M Seru there is a wall down just past S Seru entrance when mobs constantly path into in droves. Peopel of the appropriate level to hunt there simply can't because of the number of mobs.. which makes it useful only as a green farming area.

I have found no where better than mars seru.

As a 60 wiz i get a shield on and go round up as many greyhoppers as i can, if i get crawlers or any adds i run them through the recuso's, they will take care of the adds for me.

I usually kill 15 greyhoppers at once like this. Once I round them up I kill them all at once with a PBAOE spell. Then I go out rounding up more. I can get about 2 stacks of lq pelts an hour like this...sometimes more sometimes less depending on the drops...

You know, if you farm pelts in EK ops: , anyone farming silks will thank you. Some days there are so many cats roaming the hills it's impossible to sit down. Nobody seems to want to kill them when no spiders are up. Also, there's the occasional hill giant to whack for some pp.

                  My favorite spots for padding

Best spot for spiderling silk (bar none) is Innothule, since LOY came out. Can often buy stacks and stacks of spiderling silk there -- if not, can farm a few stacks in no time at all. If Innothule is totally packed, the druid circle in Feerrott isn't bad (but not as good as Innothule).

                  Best spot for pelts (IMO):
                  - the smuggler camp in Jaggedpine (might be a bit tough for a 40 drd)
                  - Mars Seru
                  - Stonebrunt
                  - Everfrost newbie area (I have a mule that vendorfarms the two vendors in EF regularly, can often pick up a stack or two of pelts off the vendor).
                  - EK cats

You can also check the DSP hopper camp and see who is there -- often tailors are farming for superb and flawless pelts and will share the LQ/MQ pelts for buffs/help killing?
Handor, 65 wiz, 250 tinkerer, baker, brewer, fletcher, jewelcrafter, potter, smith, tailor, 200 fisher, (with 8th shawl, signet of the arcane)
                  Lottsa, 65 war
Byzan, 65 clr (with 8th shawl)
Skeetereeter, 65 shm (with 8th shawl)
Darwine, 55 drd and 250 halfling tailor (with 6th shawl)

I’ve farmed hides in Marus Seru for padding several times and it’s certainly not a bad zone for it. The only problem are all the adds you’ll get. They aren’t particularly hard to kill, but I found them to be frequent and took up a fair amount of my farming time.

I tend to do most of my farming in East Karana. I never get LQ hides but the MQ and HQ hides can be downgraded if you want to use them for padding. But what I like most about hunting there is I can also kill spiders for silks, hounds for wolf meat and griffawns for feathers. I also get eggs from the snakes and if I’m there with my druid or my ranger I’ll forage tealeaves. And if nobody is camping them I’ll also kill the bandits and the gnolls for faction. East Karana is one of the best all around farming zones in the game.

The baby rockhoppers in the newbie zone in shadeweavers thicket drop quality pelts and you can blow through them. There are tons up and can aoe the whole place(just make sure no newbs there hunting for exp). I used tremor(hits for like 122 damage low mana cost) and killed all the mobs with one blast. Do the silkworms at the same time and get shadeling silks for threads. Was doing the hammer quest for the shadowscream armor and got 2 stacks of padding and 7 stacks of silks not even trying.
