Last night I did 22 combines of the iksar platinum indigo ribbon and got 4 skill up's! Gonna try this some more in-between raidning and sleeping if I get a chance

Last night, I got 20 skill-ups (162-182) in about 150 combines.. Wis 255. Unfortunately, I wasn't keeping a log of the number of combines for each skill-up, but I seem to recall that the longest I went without a skill-up was maybe 12-ish combines. I think I may have dropped 15k on platinum ribbons last night to do it, too.

I got my components from just farming in the bazaar (ha!) over a couple of weeks. I bought components for all races' ribbons. I'd buy components for 2-5p, sometimes 10p for the high elven components (main is a high elf). I also got a bunch of honey berries by just shouting in DL -- I was going to offer to buy them, but folks were just giving them away. Some folks also traded them for buffs.

I'm really hoping I can hook up with some other tailors to trade ribbons. Or sell some of the ones I have.

Just to add to the good data, I went from 169 to 175 on one stack of platinum crimson ribbons. (Some good soul gave me a stack of sylvan berries.) The ribbons cost about 2100pp, and the results sold to a vendor for just over 500pp for a net cost of just under 1600pp. Not bad for 6 valuable points.

Edit: I had a WIS of 221, and I used my geerlok mostly. (I did the first 3 combines with my brewing geerlok. Oops.)

Just to add to the bad news...

178 skill, 260 wisdom, and geerlok resulted in 25 successes out of 25 tries, with zero (0, zilch, nada) skill-ups.
