  • Caster legs (planer armor info)

Looking at some stats on Elemental planes made armor, I’ve found that the robes really aren’t all that great compared to Velious quest robes. My ToV/SS robe (which cost me nothing except time) vs. some of the planer ones for sale in bazaar at 65-100k.

    Prestidigitator's Robe
    AC: 12
    STA: +15 INT: +15 HP: +60 MANA: +90
SV FIRE: +7 SV DISEASE: +7 SV COLD: +10 SV MAGIC: +7
    SV POISON: +7
Effect: Shield of Lava (Must Equip. Casting Time: 16.0)

    Robe of Eternal Fire
    MAGIC ITEM
    Slot: CHEST
    AC: 25
    DEX: +12 STA: +5 INT: +10 AGI: +12
    HP: +50 MANA: +120 SV COLD: +25
    Recommended level of 63.
    Required level of 46.

    Robe of Ancient Earth
    MAGIC ITEM
    Slot: CHEST
    AC: 25
    STR: +12 DEX: +10 STA: +8 INT: +8
HP: +120 MANA: +50 SV DISEASE: +15 SV POISON: +15
    Recommended level of 63.
    Required level of 46.

Except for the AC difference, I’d say all 3 robes are pretty well balanced in INT-Mana-HP. And for resists, I’d rank Fire last since it only has CR.

However, if you look at the legs, you will see something a bit different.

    Prestidigitator's Trousers
    MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
    Slot: LEGS
    AC: 7
    STA: +5 INT: +3 HP: +45 MANA: +50
SV FIRE: +3 SV DISEASE: +2 SV COLD: +3 SV MAGIC: +4
    SV POISON: +2
Effect: Burnout III (Must Equip. Casting Time: 15.0)

    Earthweave Pantaloons
    MAGIC ITEM
    Slot: LEGS
    AC: 17
    STR: +10 DEX: +8 STA: +6 INT: +6
HP: +100 MANA: +40 SV DISEASE: +12 SV POISON: +12
    Recommended level of 63.
    Required level of 46.

    Firestrand Pantaloons
    MAGIC ITEM
    Slot: LEGS
    AC: 17
    DEX: +10 STA: +4 INT: +8 AGI: +10
    HP: +40 MANA: +100 SV COLD: +20
    Recommended level of 61.
    Required level of 46.

Now the +INT/HP/Mana clearly favors the planer legs. In fact, I bought the Earthweave ones not long ago.

And yet I see Robe after Robe after Robe for sale in the bazaar. And hardly anyone bothers to make legs (same amount of supplies) because BP’s are normally the best thing to make. Well perhaps those of you in upper guilds can try to pass along a bit of info to the tailors and let them know legs would probably sell better than robes in the long run.

You probably see lots of robes for sale because nobody really wants them.

I do the combines for my guild and its alliance members (30+ combines so far) and not one person has yet to ask me for a robe combine. Legs and arms seem to be the most popular.

      LEGS

i make all the silk planar gear for our guild and we outfit alot of mains with legs atm so we only really sell the fire legs atm. no water silk at all since we use ores for smithing. air is for our twink popultion, and earth is very popular with all our casters ( necros especially)

I dont have Elemental Planes access, but occasionally I see the components forsale in the bazaar. Prices vary wildly however, and I have no idea what the rarest drop for the stuff is, that is what I am hoping to get some feedback on.

For the Earthweave stuff, what is the rarity of the various dropped components? Also, how often are the combines successful at 250ish skill?

        Thanks much

Earth Mephit blood is the bottleneck for earthweave stuff. If you have a good puller and a high dps group then it might not be too hard, but everything else can be farmed at zone in. You'll have to move in or pull out mephits to zone in. Other option would be go into PoEB and farm mephits at zone in. However, those in PoEB hit for 1100.

Every int casters LOVE the earthwave legs, no one seems to want the robes mainly due to the abundance of nice caster robes from Emp, VT and others we hit before Elementals.

A lot of those elemental robes are made by non-caster tailors who have no idea that the robe market is as saturated as it is, or that the stats aren't much better than Skyshrine quest robes. When I get the saps for an Earthweave combine, I try and make a sleeves or a hat. Those are still excellent pieces compared with the other stuff in the market, and there's a ton less competition with others. You'd think that someone else would do a search on all Necromancer sleeves, see the search results fit in one window, and go "Ah! A need!" But I guess I should be happy they don't.

The worst part about this is the recent influx of people who skilled up only to get the Aid Grimel earring, and are now dabbling in tailoring for profit. I can sell those sleeves or hats at 75 K pp with ease. The people making legs have so saturated that market, and are so aggressive about trying to sell first, that leggings just won't sell for more than 65 K.
