  • hopper hides in scarlet desert?

I am a bit confused -- the pelt drop guide says superb and flawless hides drop off scarlet hoppers in scarlet desert but allakhazam dones't list them in bestiary. They DO list savage rockhoppers dropping superb and flawless. Sooooo....what types of hoppers in scarlet desert drop superb and flawless anyone? thanks

Well... the Bestiary isn't 100% accurate unfortunately. Many mobs are not listed across all zones in Norrath. I can confirm that within the Scarlet Desert there do indeed exisit Scarlet Rockhoppers and they do drop these pelts.

    Good luck!

        Hopper droppings...

Yes, all of the various hoppers in SD have a chance to drop damaged to flawless hides.

I seem to have better luck with superbs and flawless coming off of "semi" named hoppers like Enraged Rockhopper, etc. They are also nice exp up til about L50-51 then they start turning light blue.

The best spot I found to came them is the bottom of the ramp that leads up to the plateau. There are several spawn points right near it, just some odd pathing, so stay just outta melee range and they should follow you back to the ramp. Alos, it helps to be non KoS to the revenants cause they are a pain.

        Hope this helps!

            KoS to Revs....

            Hmmm,

I can't remember to be honest. They hate my Halfling Druid, but he has killed quite a few. I think they are dubuios to my Iksar Monk, but it's been awhile since I've been. I just know he started out non-KoS to them.

What I'd do is zone into SD from Twilight follow, invis, then follow the gully around to the point where you can actually go up outta the gully, toward the right a little piece after zoning in. There is a big boulder to the right that a rev of some type spawns at. Target him and con him, if he sees you invis then I believe all revs of that type can see you. If he doesn't see you invis then move off a piece, drop invis and then con him. Hopefully you'll be non-KoS as it will make life soooo much easier there.

That ramp base I was telling you about that has several hopper spawn points near it also has several rev spawn points as well. I used to pull to the actually ramp base, but got a few roaming rev adds there. A much better place is just around the base of the plateau, if you were coming down the ramp keep following the base just a little bit. This spot is from adds, unless someone trains you.

Another good thing about this spot is that several "semi"-named mobs of different types spawn near the plateau ramp and sometimes they drop some interesting loot.

Sun revs do not hate everyone from the start. I started out at dubious.

                    Sun Revs...

Zuksharn is 100% correct, not everyone starts out KoS to the Revs in SD. I know for a fact my Iksar Monk didn't. I can't remember if my Halfling Druid did, but most everyone hates asslings, especially if they are Druids.

Well, I believe it's based on your race/religion combo. If you're an evil race/class/religion combo, like Iksar necro for example, you start out dubious or higher. For my agnostic gnome wizard, which should be neutral, I was threatening or KOS, I forget which, but I stopped making the distiction after the first one attacked me. Either way, sun revs are much easier to find and avoid than some of the other stuff. Go out of your way to stay above dubious with Tro Jeg, (the little red tegi clan). If you have to, hit TS, Tenebrous or one of the other SD tegi clan encampments and wipe the place out to restore your faction. KOS to sun revs is small potatoes compared to KOS to Tro Jeg, especially if you plan on kiting down on ground level. Also, you're in for a surprise if you climb the ramp while KOS to TJs.

Pathing here is very odd, as previous posters have mentioned. Make sure you take care in your kiting so that you don't get too far ahead of the quad. With the promised pathing upgrade in the works, maybe this'll change, but as it stands, if you get too far out ahead, your quads wander off at top speed in different directions, then charge you from other places when you stop to figure out where they've gone. It can be very annoying at first.

                        KoS and Pathing...

                        Hola!

Well, I took my L39 Halfling Rogue to the plateau ramp camp this weekend and noticed a few things while there.

                        1. Rev's hate asslings as much as everyone else.
                        2. Wolf form made him KoS to all.
                        3. Pathing has been updated in SD dramtically near the ramp camp. It's still not the best, but way better than it was.
                        4. The little red alien guys hit like a freight train!!!
                        5. Exp rocks at the low-high 40's. He got 10 gold in no time flat.
                        6. Lots and lots of crap on track that was still dark blue to my L57 Druid. Most was on the plateau, but lots in the basin area as well.

                        Laters,
                        Loch
