  • When to work what?

At last tailoring. After finishing off all the other trades, tailoring is the last one. I'm a 188 tailor now, ready to finally delve in and push onwards. I did 158-188 with a miscellaneous assortment of things, very little of which was acrylia studded.

I've collected an assortment of stuff over the past weeks while I worked other skills, and will continue to collect, now more dedicated. I have components in bank for about:

    120 arctic wyvern
    40 othmir fur
    60 LoY HE robe 1
    20 LoY HE robe 2
    100 LoY HE robe 3
    20 acrylia reinforced
Add to that, there's always solstice robes.

I realize this isn't anywhere near enough to get me to 250. But its a start. I particularly want to gather a whole lot more of the low end LoY robe stuff, been hunting (vendor mining) the research components heavily, and have a dedicated forager at work whenever my main is raiding. I know I can always beef this up with solstice robes.

What I'm not clear on, is when I should work what items. It seems when I see people's skill up paths here, they toss in whatever they had at the time, with no rhyme or reason other than they had the stuff. I'd actually like to have a bit more of a plan. In all the other trades, I had a basic plan on how to approach it. If tailoring follows the other skills I figure somewhere between 1000-1800 combines total needed (not counting subcombines).

I was thinking do solstice robes now at 188, to about 200, while the fail rate will keep the prices down on these (such an odd concept). Then switch into LoY robes. Make sure to do my 2 points on ethereal silk swatches to 212 in there. Then do acrylia studded when I've drained all my LoY components, and then use the velious stuff at the end, and finish off with solstice robes as needed.

Looking for thoughts from people who have done this. Reasonable? Going to find myself disapponted? Suggestions?

The trivials for the robes are 212,222, and 232 (Estiamted, only 1-2 points possibly off).

The triv for Acrylia Reinforced is 242.

The trivial for Velious stuff, and Solstrice robes are 250+

188-212 is 24 points. You migtht be able to do that with the low end robe(s). *grin*

And tears of prexus are hella-common, so 20 points from those shouldn't be too bad, if you can get the Berries. (400 tears would take me a couple weeks to gather , vendor mining)

At 232, then start on your Acrylia. And then possibly Velious.

But then again, the RNG may have you got 300 combines with no skillups. So You may end up doing everything at 225. Who knows. I would say stick close to trivials, to get some successes.
