  • Best item for LoY ribbon dye?

What item would be best to use, purely for skill ups, for LoY ribbon robes?

Mainly, which is most easily farmable?

Feel free to flame me, I've only seen a bajillion threads on this, but yet to find a real answer, simple, few words...

I am a 61 Iksar Shaman, well oiled, excrutiatingly sexah, btw

I find honey berries on every vendor within 6 zones of Anywhere.

        I'll have to revisit steamfront.

In the mean time...Eurds crossing has 3 static spawns of sea horses. The seahorse roe seems to be a rare drop though. Check the vender anyways, she might have a few on her.
oh, and sweep the bazaar for foraged goodies. So far on Fennin Ro I managed to score a few for about 1pp each. Seems fair to me.
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

          Steamfont Spring Water hands down.

They drop off the Kobolds and Minotaurs inside Steamfont Mountains as well as being foraged in the zone. Just kill all of the Kobolds camp (very fast respawn like 3.5 minutes) and you'll receive about a stack an hour.

/Bazaar all of the items for any ribbons and buy them all. Convert them into dye and then just do the combines, but save the 188 skill dyes until you hit 183 on the easier dyes!

How rare are plant shoots? Any foragers spending time in Jagged Pine?

              Rare

Plant shoots are pretty rare, mainly due to the loaded forage table in Jaggedpine. On the bright side, they're used in several baking recipes so a) they have multiple uses and b) some folks know to keep them and sell them in the bazaar.

Overall, Steamfont spring water is pretty easy to get and Honey Berry isn't bad either.

I know about all of the locations of the first tier dyes but since I am cheap it's the second tier dye components I need. I want to do the gold combines until they triv before doing the platinum.

                  Wootages

Thank you all very much for your GREAT replies, might want to sticky this perhaps so anyone else like me that might drop by could have some reference. I'm headed to my hometown Cabillis for some vendor farming, and then to Steamfront, HOO-HAH!

I am VERY dissapointed that I wasn't flamed tho...

I have tried hunting NK and Eurd Crossing for dye supplies. I have found at both places I get about 7 dye items per hour. In NK all 3 types of beetle drop the Plains Roots and in Eurds Crossing the Kera Spiders and Kera Snakes drop the Seahorse Roe.

I've been hunting in the Overthere for several weeks now and have had about 1 stack and a little more from the mob drops and forages. The Cursed Clover of Viesar drops of the Cacti in the zone (Spiny/Thorny Succulents), it's a fairly rare drop off them. It's also a fairly rare forage in the zone (what with all the regular items that can be foraged, there are also 4 other zone specific items).

Unless you really need it for DE robes, I would advise hunting elsewhere for your Tailoring components.

Steamfont water for lower skill items (I could easily get a stack an hour+ just killing the kobalds south of the LFay zone).

Lichenclover for higher skill....the drolvargs in FV must love chewing on it or somthing...every 2nd or 3rd one I killed was carrying one.
