Ethereal Silk Swatches

Much to my surprise I zoomed from 205 to 210 in 50 combines today. Now i want to make ethereal silk swatches for 211 and 212.

Where do I get the strands of ether?

Soda is a vendor item, I can say that much, so it should be listed under Trade Supplies - Brewing.

Strands of Ether are probably the single most common drop in most of the Tier-One PoP zones--if your group is letting you have them all, and evening in PoN, PoD, or PoV will get you stacks of them. They only sell for about 1 1/2 pp each, so only tailors really want them.

They also drop in other zones, too--BoT, PoS, CoD, etc.

How did you manage the combine with only 205 skill? According to the recipe page, both ethereal swatches and cured ethereal energy are restricted to modified 220 skill or higher (ie. 210+5%). Do you happen to have a 15% shear or is the information on the recipe page perhaps (I hope) in error?

I believe he 'zoomed to 210 in 50 combines' on something else. Then he will switch for 2 pts, and switch back basically.

Strands of ether are a very common drop and can be vendor-mined with ease. PoK is a good place to check.

To do the ethereal silk swatches combines you need to tannin that it takes a 220(modified skill) brewer to make for you.

I took this route when I hit 192...15% shears from shei allow combines to 212. Thank god!

Anyhow, to save yourself some time and money. Once you make a sufficiant amount of etherial silk swatches, lets say 10 stacks for example.
Go buy yourself a Tannan Embrodery Needle. 2 swatches + needle in a tannan loom = cured etherial energy....same 212 trivial. Saves you some sanity and cash from buying the curing agent.
