• %15 Tailoring skill mod?

Anyone hear about this? How do i obtain one of these? What is the name?

Is there anything out there besides a geerlock and grandmaster tailoring needle? Thanks!

• #2
geerlok sewing contraption (tinkered): +5% tailoring

grandmaster tailoring needle (player-made): +5% tailoring

Akhevan shadow shears (drop off Shei Vintras in Akheva Ruins): +15% tailoring

Beastlord cloaks from the tailoring quests

All found at this link.

PS - the Shears is Shei's rare drop. Takes a good sized raid force.

Aye. The MoB that drops the shears will Death Touch someone every 30-60 seconds, If I recall. And a level 60 MoB will spawn any time somebody dies.

In other words, unless you are a VERY VERY well equipped, raid-capable, level 60 guild, I would suggest you forget it.

Dont forget about the Traps =)

Blindness....

And Mana Drain =)

If you can Raid High Priest in Ssra you should be able to take out Shei. Very similar strategies in some respects.

Do the different mod percentages add up together? I have the trophy and a geerlok. Would using both of them at the same time total +10% skill modification or just 5%?

They do NOT stack.

5% is the best you can get without a 60+ Raid force.

The Beastlord cloak is 2% at first then 3% after the sonic wolf bane weapons are finished and the 3 Super ultra rare items are found (And if you don't get 2 or 3 of each of those items during the time spent mass farming Hollowshade for the bits needed for the weapons I'd be surprised) on the Garrison Cloak.
The Officer's Cloak is also 3% as is the Hero's Cloak, however the hero's cloak has Flowing Thought V, too, so I can't complain too much.

If you're a mid-sized guild that's 61+ Shei is very doable. Levels are an enormous help more than gear. Few things to keep in mind:

1) The DT isn't a real DT. DA blocks it. Have the one leading the charge DA'ed so they don't die from initial DT.
2) The DT is interruptable. It's very possible to kill Shei without any adds.
3) Casters can hide from the manadrain trap in the nooks in the back of the room.

The shears unfortunately seem very rare. However Shei has decent enough loot (lots of 100hp stuff, bard skill mod cloak, boon of recovery priest range, etc) that should encourage your guild to keep going back. Probably 4 groups in above average gear is enough if most/all are 65. 6 groups in average gear or mid 60's. You don't want too many under 60. This is an encounter where having extra people (especially those that can't tank a L60 mob unaided for a few rounds) is a serious liability.

DT killed me through DA

I volunteered to take the initial Death Touch. I popped Divine Aura, ran up, was Death Touched, and died.

Also, on another occasion, I put Divine Intervention on the MT. I have Unfailing Divinity 3, which is supposed to grant some health even if not all buffs and health are restored. The MT was Death Touched and died anyway.

I think Death Touch simply kills you, rather than delivering enough hits that should ordinarily kill anyone.

The key to killing Shei is DPS, and hiding healers from the mana drain.

I got the Shears from Shei.

But we don't do Shei any more. The loot in Vex Thal is much better. I'm hoping for the +15% smithing hammer from there.

That's interesting, Forthofer. We Bestow DA the MT or have a paladin DA and do the charge and they never die. (Except once when a Paladin forgot to DA ) We've done Shei multiple times without having a single add.

I thought there was an item that dropped from a mob in The HOLE that dropped an item with a 10% on it. will look for it.

DA, DI

Well, now that I think about it, the Death Touch that killed me through DA wasn't from Shei.

Maybe Shei's really isn't a Death Touch, but a lot of damage.

I recently tried putting Divine Intervention on me, putting invis on, then jumping into the pit in Plane of Tactics, in hopes that I would be hit for 20k, then be given at least some health. But it didn't work. I died anyway.

Divine Intervention works in such a way that when you get down to about 10% health(before you actually die) it checks the DI to see if it worked. If it does you get the heal, if it doesn't you continue as if you're going to die. 10% is too much for when it actually checks but is just a percentage to show that it doesn't check when you actually die, but when you're really low health.

This has been recently discussed over at Paladins of Norrath, and that was one of the things that was mentioned. While a real DT (the "bang you're dead" type) will go through Divine Aura, Shei's DT is the lesser version that hits you for a massive amount of damage instead of automatically killing you. Thus, DA works fine against Shei.
