I hear ya, man.. I keep about 6-8 stocked at once, and just leave a post on my servers trading forum. I get absolutely sick of hearing Tink Bags are 5250.. Yeah? That's great.. get your ass down to Sol A and leave me the hell alone! :POriginally posted by DaddoHaversacks are a PITA to sell.
You can't put them on a trader and let them sit until they sell. You'd also better be pretty thickskined to take the abuse you'll get when you try to sell them for more than a tink.
I sold 4 and decided it just wasn't worth it.

I make haversacks all the time and I rarely have them on me for more than a couple hours, granted I do have a second account and can be doing things on the other account while I am trying to sell them. I sell them for 5200pp which is still a pretty good profit, takes the whole tinkerers bag price right out of the equation. As a matter of fact, I have orders from several people who are looking for bags. So my vote is Halfling tailor all the way

As a player that is trying to GM both an Erudite Wizard and Halfling Druid in tailoring (and a woodie druid friend that is 250), it is important to keep a few things in mind with regard to obtaining supplies. How readily available are they? How can you obtain them? As far as the availability of the high end components, BDs seem to be a non-issue. I see them from 200-1000pp in the bazaar and more than a stack on vendors throughout the bazaar and PoK at 262pp each. So what is easier to obtain, HQ Brute, Excellent Sabretooth or Terrorantula silk? Well, without a doubt, I am inclined to say the silks. However, each server is quirky in a sense. I came from Bristlebane where there was never less than 20 people in the OT and 10 in FM and 30+ in LoIO and usually 3-5 people in SRo hunting the AC. You can go there and buy them from the people trying to level up there. Most people do not hunt the brutes in FM, but if you associate a price with the hides, hired thugs work wonders. So that leads to gathering Misty Acorns, Oak Bark and nothing. Again, the Erudites have the easy route here. Acorns and Bark are just sessions of foraging as well as having your brewing 135+. Woodies have the edge over halflings here as they start off with 50 foraging and halfling druids do not get the skill until 5th level.
Also, in a not so scientific test with a friend, we have come to the conclussion that Int casters see skill increases faster than Wis casters. I don't know if that is just due to a limited sample size or whether it is true, however our data indicates that it exists.
So, through all my babbling, what do I suggest? Well, that depends on what he is going to compliment. If you have a high level forager/porter, I suggest making an Erudite Enchanter to be your tailor. My Erudite has been approached by Humans and Erudites to make them armor already. If you have an enchanter, I suggest a wood elf druid. A very viable and cost friendly skill up path is Solstice Robes. You need to be a "good" elf to be able to imbue the emeralds. If you want to unique, I suggest being a troll SK. If you want to be the first, I suggest a troll SK or Froglok Wizard (doubt any have GM'd yet...and I think they will be cultural smiths, but don't quote me). If you want to be a halfling, be a halfling. Whichever you choose, hunt in the areas that drop your supplies so that you can save them for later times when you go to do your tailoring. Oh, how much better off I would have been. /sigh

Id have to say halflings have it best on Rallos
They are the only ones who have cultural that they can actually sell well (bags). Other stuff sits on vendors most of the time cause people will avoid droppable armor unless its very good and very cheap (sigh)Oberan Lifebringer
