  • WTS LoY ribbons

I'm using the ribbon combines to get skill raises but since i'm wood elf i cant make any of the actual robes, how many people out there will buy these things, and what would be a good price? I'll be selling silver for 15pp, gold 50pp and the platinum types for 100pp.

I'm not trying to sell them here, just looking for prices and chances of actually getting ride of them. Being that they sell back to the vendor for 1/2 of the price of the ribbons them selves.

    Thanks in advance

    I would imagine few.

From what I recall, the demand in the bazaar was low.

Especially for the silver ribbons. The robes are sub par, if I recall.

He's one of the lesser (wood) elves Lilosh. He can't make the robes. As for selling the ribbons I would say you wont have much of a market. So far I'm the only one on my server that I've seen selling the elven robes, and I gather up the supplies on my own. But you're server might be different.

        Another Wood Elf here.....

Apparently NO market on my server. Too many Tailors I guess. I'm hoping I can just find an INT caster of suitable race to sell them the ribbons at COST. I don't care about a profit, I just want to be able to unload the ones I have so far since I can never convert them into robes myself.

seriously, blue dye isnt that hard to find but trying to get bamboo shoots is a killer if you need stacks of them to skill on. but of course you arent making beige ribbons are you, you're making ones that dont contain hard to find dyes, which means yours wouldnt sell like they would if they were beige.

anyway what you should probably do is find another tailor that needs to make robes for skill and then make the ribbons for her.

there's almost-no market for the swatches. or maybe my prices are too high (average 100 pp each). if they aren't buying swatches they probably aren't buying the ribbons either.

keep in mind that anyone who can use the ribbons can make the ribbons for the same cost (or less) as you. unless the dye is hard to come by, they really don't need you.

Personally I have not sold one in Xev on ribbons but I did get an inqury on them, (what do you use the ribbon for?) hehe. Seriously, I only have Platinum ribbons on sale for all races and not one sold in weeks. This seem strange since I almost never see any of the foraged items needed for the ribbon on sale on bazaar. I would be lucky to find about 10 of one kind in several days. I used the ribbon to go from 165 to 187. Was not cheap but certain was easy. Also, it seems I am the only one making the High Elf robes on the server. At least I don't see them on bazaar at all. I sold some lower end gold based robes for good price (sold one today matter of fact). They are going slow but they are going. The silver based robes are not moving at all though. I have tons of swatches and ribbons for silver based robe and I will be making them to skill up soon.

BTW, I would buy swatches for High Elf robes in an instant, specially the higher end ones (i.e. used for platinum ribbon based robe).

Probably a better idea than trying to sell the ribbon would be selling the foraged ingredients to make the ribbon. Foraged stuff usualy sells well in the bazaar anyways, with more and more of it becoming used in trade skills I don't intend on throwing away anything that stacks and is foraged.

My suggestion is sell the stuff to make ribbons, and use the proffits to help with making studded acrylia.
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

                    Hmm.

If there's anyone on FV doing this, call me. All I need is a friend of the appropriate race (and having enough neutral friends that ain't tough) to grab the robe patterns; they are quite tradeable. There's a tailor on my server who's buying ANY of the forageable items due to tihs fact.

I would assume that the reason there's no market is that the research components are not plentiful, or are buried in vendors.

i'd buy any swatches, foraged parts, dyes or dyed ribbons on stormhammer that can be used for erudite tailoring in a heartbeat! i check every day in the bazaar... so I think what a previous poster suggested is accurate -- watch for someone lookign for them then work out a partnership or agreement for your ribbons and make the ones they need.

I have had greater success selling the dye itself rather than the ribbons.

I have about 3 stacks of various ribbons which I used to skill up to 187.

Got really lucky and found someoen selling 15 stacks of the foraged components from jaggedpines, and made them all into jaggedpine dye.

Once i triv'd out at 187 I put the last 6 or 7 stacks of dye up in bazaar and it moved VERY fast at 30pp each.

Good way to recover some of the costs of making the ribbons, which havent even sold yet at 25pp each.

Expensive skill ups, yes but alot cheaper than acrylia for sure.

I sold 11 dyes made from plains roots for 50 plat each last night in the Rathe. I have a bunch of other dyes for sale at 50 plat, I will let you know if they sell. I have had golden ribbons up for sale at 100 plat for about 5 days without a bite. I will reprice em to 50 or 75 and see if any move.

I bought Hickory shears for 125 plat, then had a smith friend make me 2 elm shears (in case he failed). I put the extra Elm shear up for 300 plat then 250 plat, still no takers on it.

As was stated there is little incentive for a tailor to buy pre made ribbons when buying/getting the dyes and making them yourself is cheaper.

Just sold an elm shear on RN for250p. It sat on my trader for at least a month. I had it left over from my first attempts to make them.

Still have 2 Fier'dal (HA!) needles for sale too.
