  • Fair price for Tufts of Dire Wolf Fur ?

As a human ranger I forage these tufts frequently in EW. What are some of the fair prices on your servers in Bazaar - I don't know what's fair, having seen rather broad prices in Bazaar ( just got Luclin, onyl been to Bazaar a few times- these Tufts are not always for sale)

    Thanks!

I usually offer 10p each for the tufts but will pay up to 20p each in the bazaar. I know I have my whole guild collecting them for me. They are used for halfling cultural 100% weight reduction bags. I have been making the 8 spot backpacks and selling them for 4k. They have only cost me right around 1500p each so far. I usually have my brother log me on and forage while he is raiding and I am at work. It works out fairly well. I am currently doing the solstice robes to level and will soon make the 10 spots. Just between my guild and a few friends I have about 30 haversacks on pre-order status.

      Fair price?

Mmmm, not sure what a fair price for that is...
Was selling them like hot cake at 1pp each, so I lo0k in the recipies
here to find out what they where about , gradually up the price to 12 pp each , and still sold them madly!

I am currently collecting them to have a bag made.

One person is advertising the bag for 6k, and he is buying them for 20 pp each. ATM, they are at the bazaar on my server for 10 to 100 pp each...

As a Halfling Tailor, and a nonforage class, i refuse to pay more than 20plat per tuft, since i can buy them of Vendors in Thurg for 3copper each when people sell them there. Most of the time i pay 5-10 plat for them off Bazaar bots (Bulk>Vendor farming) I've seen them for 50 and 100plat in the bazaar, but they wil never be bought at that price by anyone sane.

Wow, I’m rather amazed by these prices. When my ranger was leveling in EW I used to forage a lot of fur and I’d put them on my vendor for 1pp each. They’d sit there for weeks before anyone would buy even a few of them. The last two stacks sat there so long I finally priced them at 1 gold each just to get ride of them. Even then I think it took a week or so before they sold. I just assumed there wasn’t a market for them.

I sell them for 2 - 3pp each. I probably could get more, but I do it as a service instead of a money maker. I appreciate it when other traders sell foraged stuff I need like oak bark, yew leaves and drake eggs at reasonable prices. I merely return the favor.

I think there was no market before because no one was making the bags. Back in the day I could pick em up for 1plat off people. But now there are more 250ish Halfling tailors so demand has gone up.

You need 36 of them for a bag. Given the number of combines you have to make with just the tufts (16, I think), it turns out to be more like 40 on average. The haversacks use 3 blue diamonds (500pp, depending on your patience an server) and 3 platinum threads (210pp each). Processing all the blue diamonds takes 9 combines, so expect to lose on about half the time. So.... Before the final combine, this is about 2400pp (estimating failures, and adding Celestial Essence).

The final combine has a trivial at near 250 (I've had 2 failures in about 15 tries -- but I have heard of others who have not failed in >70 tries).

End result: 500pp for all of the tufts to make a bag seems about right. This makes it about 10-15pp per tuft. I don't normally pay more than about 5pp, since I am a forager and currently hunt in WW anyway (I'm also cheap, but that's a different story).

                        25p each

It takes on average 40 tufts for a bag. so thats 1000p for tufts. The final combine is 95% success at 250. Ive failed 2 bags in about 80 or so attempts.

I have paid more for tufts. But only when there are large numbers involved (30+ tufts). So I am paying for the convience of getting all of the tufts at once from one vendor. For example somone had tufts at 40p each for a long time and just kept getting more. They had over 400 in trader mode back when LoY came out and there was that bug where you had to buy items individually. I offered 14k for all of them (33p each roughly). But then I had enough tufts to immediately make 10 bags =)

If you want to lower tuft prices on your server dont do bag combines for anyone. Not for plat, not for supplies. There are only so many classes that can forage and VERY few people on your server that can make the bags. If you let people bring you the supplies they are the ones driving up tuft prices for you. They dont care about making profits on the bag. The bag itself is what they are after.

I really dont care if I make the bags or not. The profits from the bags arent a large % of my business. And the time it takes to /auction them means I need to be making a decent amount of plat from them. Dealing with the people who try to nickel and dime you and get you to trade stupid gear they havent been able to sell is annoying. I need to be compensated for that

my standard buy price is 10p. i offer 250p per stack. if someone sells me several stacks i always throw in a bigger bonus (gave 600p to a guy with 43 tufts today)
it amazes me that the same person, with 0 tailoring skill, wants to buy finished haversacks for 5k "cause, dude its playermade and tink is only 5k" wants to sell me tufts at 100p each
i personally will stop making haversacks before i pay even 25p per tuft
