Acrylia Farming

In TM caves Foremen and Geomancers DO NOT ever drop acrylia. Only the miners will drop it. Never sell windstones to vendors sell in bazaar. Windstones are used in smithing acrylia armor and are always needed by blacksmiths. There are 2 better gems that drop forget their names but one sellls for 60+pp the other sells for 90+ pp but they are very rare.

The Lowdown on the Gems in the Grimling Caves in TM. As provided by a farmer of the Grimling Caves and of Rockhoppers for hides in DSP. These have been my homes away from home (Rivervale) for the last 5 months *grin*...

This list is just for the Grimlings in TM. I cannot say Grimlings in any other zone will drop these same items.

In order of PP and a Cha of 111...

Umbracite - Very Rare drop 114PP and some GP
Luclinite - Very Rare drop 80PP 9GP
Windstone - Rare drop 16PP and some GP (sold 1 at a time when I needed some PP and wasn't close to a bank)
Emberstone - Rare drop 12PP and some GP
Stratolite - Rare drop 12PP and some GP
Stralogite - 9PP and some GP
Crystalite - 9PP and some GP

There are more but you get the picture. The nicest thing about these is that they ALL STACK!

As well the Acrylia Runes can sell for some nice PP. The following is the prices of the Runes with a Cha of 111.

Acrylia Rune AMM - 9PP and some GP - Rare
Acrylia Rune LYSN - 6PP 6GP - Common
Acrylia Rune WER - 4PP and some GP - Common
Acrylia Rune BUH - 3PP and some GP - Very Common

These 4 are the only ones that sell for PP and only drop off of the Laborer and Foreman

The following are the rest of Acrylia Runes and their prices. I hope I remember em all... And remember, THEY ALL STACK...

I know I do not have all of the Gems or Runes listed, but this shows a good portion of them.

What I do know is this... When it comes to the Grimling Caves in TM, they are a GOLD MINE for farming Acrylia AND Plat. When you can make 500PP in a 3 hour period and everything is green or light blue and get between 5 and 20 bricks of Acrylia in that same time period, I'll take that over having to sit and regen after every fight in Acrylia Caverns any time.

I may not get any exp, but I didn't expect to when I started doing this. You have to give up something, to get something.

Had a not quite so good experience in the Tenebrous mines the other night.
IIRC, I killed the laborer 9 times.
3 times there were two acrylia drops on the laborer.
3 times there was a small piece of acrylia.
3 times there was no acrylia on the laborer.
I've never seen the laborer not drop acrylia except this time, so I would guess it was just a really, really bad run with the RNG (especially annoying as its the only time I've actually found the laborer mine uncamped since I realized that's where it spawned).

I have seen the Laborer NOT drop Acrylia many many times. I've even seen a string of 5 or more times in a row that she did not drop Acrylia. There are times where you won't get much Acrylia over a length of time. There will also be times where the Acrylia drops in bunches. It's still the easiest place I know of to get a decent amount of Acrylia without much of a hassle or doing alot of downtime to regen.

What's most annoying is that even in the Teneb mines, I'm still only averaging about 2-4 studs an hour with my poor paladin.

Are there any Grol Baku camps in Teneb? The grimling orefinders never seem to have more than one acrylia ore on them when they die, but the Grol Baku usually have multiple pieces (when they have them). Are there any Grol Baku camps, or do they merely wander the zone? EQ Atlas doesn't have any marked, and I'm curious about that.
That would have the added advantage that people in Teneb only seem to camp the mines, the castle, and the KC zone line. I would imagine that competition for a Grol Baku camp would be fairly light.

I find Acrylia Caverns to be quite fun to farm in. Granted, I'm level 65, but I can only keep the room off to the left of the entrance clear before things start repopping. That's about 9 or 10 spawns. For my 90 minutes of farming I walked out with a bag and a half of acrylia bricks/blocks and 5 or so black acrylias.

Just don't try to charm a war painted grimling. Wow those suck.

As Liwsa says, all the Grol Baku's are wanderers except for the Tormented Vah Shir quest camp in the South West corner of TM. I really don't like hunting them down myself for multiple reasons. 1. I can't track so I have to run around searching for them. 2. I'm not a caster so I can't kill them quickly. 3. I don't like getting adds when I do find one and even though I'm level 59, the adds can get annoying which forces me to run to the zone. Thank goodness I have Run 3.... I'd have been dead a few times otherwise.

I don't know what the ph's are to get them to respawn either. Is it the Grol Baku Named? Is it the Cral Ligi's? Is it the Darkwing Bats or the Sonic Wolves?

This is why I like the Grimling Caves in TM. No searching, no adds except for those in the cave that I can take care of, and no wondering what is a PH to get them to respawn.

Acrylia Caverns is the way to go if you can handle it. I take my 65 Mage and box my 51 chanter (Hey if I'm farming anyway might as well get some exp in the process) for slows. I can come away with TONS of Acrylia.

If you're going to hunt Tegi in the TS hidden cavern, take some friends with you. Mobs there are much higher than the mobs found in the main area of TS, have a large aggro radius, and proc some elemental effects. I can't solo there as a 55 monk, nor did I do well with a 56 druid for company (although I did just upgrade my weapons, so I may try again soon.

They do drop acrylia, though. I did not hunt long enough to get a good sense of the rate. I find the grimling caves in Ten. Mtns. the best place for a sub 60 to solo for acrylia.

Laborer Cave seems to be camped a lot lately on Sol Ro, however. Unfortunate and annoying, but its the way it is.
And the orefinders seem to be rather streaky. I'll have a few that'll all drop it in the same clearing and then go for quite a while without seeing any. Anything that looks like it might be a legitimate alternative is worth a look, imho, especially since I was recently ripped apart by a Sambata Gatherer (I lost over half my health, and knocked him down a little over half a bubble).

acrylia caverns has the best drop rate for acrylia, and the runes there are worth a lot more than the ones from TM. the catch? if you arent a pet class and preferable 55+ you need some help. I dragged dome guys down there a few times, with a wiz (me) and a pally and shaman (think they were like 55 +-2 at the time) we were chain pulling to the zoneline. of course everyone i ever used there got bored in about an hour or so and went off to get back to being an xp whore. anyway, if you can get a pet or a tank/healer to come help its probably the best place.

Acrylia Farming in Twilight Sea

I am looking at how the Acrylia rate is for the drops in Twilight Sea. There was a post earlier saying that there are tons of mobs that drop the Acrylia there, but how common is the drop? I want to take my Magi (51 totally untwinked) there and see about it, but would hate to waste my time hunting there if after 20-30 kills you get one small piece. I am sure you can understand that logic.

Can anyone post about the drop rate of the Acrylia for Twilight Sea?

Does it drop from the aliens there? I've never seen many of them in Twilight really, so hard to imagine it would be much.
