It won't be news to anyone here, but I think the RNG has an interesting sense of humor. (In the "may you live in interesting times" sense.)

Been skilling up on Solstice Robes lately, and I've been seeing more robes than skillups over the last little while, even at skill in the high-160s to low-170s range. But this isn't such a big deal, as I've been doing pretty well on the chain combines.

Just a little while ago, I decided to do a few robe combines, checked the bank and saw I had three chains. Should be plenty, I think, as I'm only planning on a run of 18 (what I had silks for after starting with 60 emeralds...).

Start out with 15 fails, no skillups, and no robes. Then get successful combines on the next three in a row. At 173 skill. (Well, the last one at 174 -- got a skillup on the second of the three.) A 1 in 8000 chance, if the attempts were actually independently determined. (I'm fairly confident they're not entirely, but still...)

I'm not especially complaining, just feeling rather bemused, and wondering what the RNG's next trick will be. :roll:

I think the RNG knows how many chains you and how silks you have - and makes sure you have silk left over, no matter how many possible combines you'd like to get out of those silks.

Whether you've got a stack of silk - or 4 bags of silk. You'll always end up with a stack of silks left over - instead of chains left over, waiting for more silk.
